New server, Forums back up, Virus gone?
11/19/07 - The old server MDV was on no longer works.  It apparently became "broken" recently (on Sunday) and thus I was forced into migrating to a new server.  And thus, welcome to the new server.  The forums were down most of Monday but as of 11:12pm Monday night - they are back up (along with the Blog pages) thanks to ButteBlues.  Thanks, BB!  Also, with this new server, the virus that once plagues MDV should now be gone.  If it isn't, go here to discuss.  Otherwise, go here to discuss the new server and the fact that MDV is now back up.  ~Streetz~
MDV Forum Awards for 2007 Posted!
11/14/07 - The MDV Forum Awards have begun and you should be nominating your favorite person in each category.  The above link will take you to the rules of the forum awards and then you can peruse the categories and make your nominations.  Nominations will run for a few weeks and then voting will start.  Things should get interesting.  I hope you enjoy this year's Forum Awards!  ~Streetz~  Discuss Here.
Big Problems for Magic Deck Vortex.  WARNING - Virus Attack.
11/7/07 - Magic Deck Vortex is going through some very tough times right now.  Recently, someone or something comprised the server which MDV runs on and inserted something that is inserting malicious code into random pages on MDV.  This code tries to attack visitors computers and install a virus (or virii).  DO NOT EVER let MDV install Active X controls onto your computer else you will be infected by a virus.

If you have been visiting the site recently, in the past two weeks, please check your computer for viruses just to be sure.  Make sure you have antivirus software and also make sure you do a scan to be sure you don't have anything.  Make sure you have all of the recent patches available for your operating system as well.

My host and I are working on this in an effor to resolve this as quickly as possible.

Also, there are other problems I am experiencing like the loss of my old computer which had all of MDV on it.  I am working on rebuilding things.  Please be patient with me.  I would expect content to resume as normal in the next week.  Thank you for visiting MDV  -- I appreciate everyone's patience as I work to resolve all of the problems the site and I are experiencing.  ~John Streetz~

Introducing the New MDV Blog!
10/8/07 - Magic Deck Vortex's blog is officially up and more information will follow. For now, there are two blogs posted. Expect to see a variety of MDV faces posting blogs. Also expect to see a different default theme in the next few weeks.  ~Streetz~

What happened?  I'll tell you.
8/23/06 - You have noticed, no doubt, lack of updates over the pass two weeks. Well, I apologize for that. However, this was out of my control for the most part.

My high-speed Internet service provider has disappointed me greatly. I have been out of Internet access for almost a full two weeks. Despite my complaints, and my multiple calls to service to schedule an appointment sooner, I still had to wait a LONG time to get a technician out to my home. Mind you, I've had two technicians out to my place in two weeks. They fixed it once last week... for a day and a half. And then they fixed it again this morning. Thus I am making this quick update before I have to go back to work. Let's hope my Internet doesn't go out again anytime soon.

The unfortunate aftermath of this is that two things have been delayed - the upcoming theme week and the MDV IDOL 2 contest. Both of these things have been planned for over the past several months... but without Internet service at home I was unable to really do anything for the site or these two events. The deadline for MDV IDOL 2 registration has been moved and that exact date will be announced shortly.

Let’s not forget about some of the high quality and intriguing articles that could have been posted over the past two weeks. There are some really great ones that I can’t wait to post. Unfortunately, I do have to go back to work.

Again, I apologize for the lack of updates. I wish you could understand my sincere aggravation throughout all of this. Thank you for visiting Magic Deck Vortex. I really mean that. ~Streetz~ Discuss this here.
MDV is Five Years Old!!!
8/16/07 - While MDV's exact birthday is unknown, one thing is for sure -- MDV was first uploaded to the world wide web in August of 2002.  And thus, this month marks MDV's fifth year.  While there aren't any extreme things going on, be sure and wish MDV happy birthday in the forums! Share your comments, memories, etc. there. ~Streetz~ Discuss Here.

Errata erased on several cards...
7/14/06 -  WotC has changed some errata... and then changed the errata again.. and then erased that errata... on some cards.  I highly encourage you to read through this entire article on www.wizards.com by Aaron Forsythe.  In that link he talks about the recent errata changes to popular cards like Iridescent Drake, Great Whale and Goblin Snowman.  Then... vote in the new poll!  Thanks.  ~Streetz~

Do you agree with WotC's removal of power-level errata?
Yes, great job,
In theory but not in execution.
No, quit changing things.
I don't care.

Tim Hildebrandt has passed away.
6/12/06 -  Tim Hildebrandt, twin brother to Greg Hildebrandt, died June 11th, 2006 from complications due to diabetes. This is very unfortunate news as he was a great artist, person and inspiration for Magic players, other artists and gamers from all over the world.  Please read this with regard to his death.  In that link you can find information about how to send your condolences to his brother, Greg.  ~Streetz~
Quick MDV Update...
5/5/07 - While I haven't been posting as much article content lately, it doesn't mean there aren't things going on in the background.  Read more... ~Streetz~ Discuss Here.
MDV Search Re-enabled...
4/17/07 - The search engine of old has been re-enabled.  While it has many imperfections, it still does the job.  Be sure to read the notes about using it to maximum the results.  Thanks.  ~Streetz~ Discuss Here.

Magic Deck Vortex on MySpace!
3/3/07 - MDV now has a MySpace page!  You can find it by clicking here.  If you would like to get updates on MDV happenings via MySpace, ask to be a friend.  I haven't decked out the page yet... ~Streetz~  Discuss Here.
Don't Go Anywhere - Land Week Next Week!
3/2/07 - As the title suggests, don't leave MDV anytime soon.  Starting Monday next week, you will be thrown into another theme week on Magic Deck Vortex.  During theme weeks, MDV has 2-3 features a day including combos, articles, database updates and contest resolutions.  That's right, the winners of the Thematic Landscapes will be posted next week.  Point here is that if you like lands, you must check MDV out everyday next week.  I look forward to all of your feedback during the week's events.  ~Streetz~  Discuss this topic here.
MDV's back up! And now with a...
2/7/07 - ...dedicated server.  That's right.  MDV is now hosted on a dedicated server.  Many thanks to everyone for your patience.  But a big thank you goes out to ButteBlues for assisting throughout the forum transfer and for helping to diagnosis the problems.  Also thank you to Hannes from MTGS, Dom from MTGCast, Jason from Streetzuite and several other webmasters for their input and assistance throughout this debacle.  To make a long story short, MDV didn't have enough resources to use on the previous VPS server I was using.  The loads went through the roof and the CPU usage was at 100% all the time.  With this new server, the site should be faster and I should be able to add more features to be announced at another time.  Thanks for visiting Magic Deck Vortex!  ~Streetz~ P.S. The forums are back up now!  Discuss this topic here.
Site was down, then up, then down...
1/26/07 - Just like the title says.  The site was down for several hours on Wednesday and many hours on Thursday.  Finally, after many hours invested, the site should be working fine.  I will re-post the spoiler for Planar Chaos soon and everything will be back to normal.  Many thanks to ButteBlues, site techie, and Michael C. from our server for assisting in solving the problem.  While I still am not sure what the cause was, it's fixed.  The CPU was going through the roof.  After an upgrade of the forum software, and the deletion of a bunch of old threads in the forum, the CPU levels are normal again.  Note: Michael C. was the only one from my server that actually helped and didn't throw the 'get a better server' down my throat.  Thanks for listening and visiting!  Articles and features will resume next week.  ~Streetz~
A Few Notes...
1/18/07 - The forums were down part of the day on Thursday as my host decided to shut down the server because of an 'overload' --  which is also why the whole site was down for about 5 hours in the morning.  Anyway, I shut down the forums temporarily so that the 'node?' could stabilize... so the main site could remain online.  [Any suggestions on a new server?] In the meantime, I haven't been able to make many updates on the main site recently.  I'm embarrassed to say, but it wasn't because of anything urgent.  It was because (here's the embarrassing part) I went on a two day 'Heroes' marathon.  I've watched all 11 episodes and am HOOKED.  Updates will resume Friday including the latest Mechanix Podcast and possibly the beginnings of the next deck database update.  Thanks as always for visiting Magic Deck Vortex!  ~Streetz~  You can discuss this blurb here.  P.S. MTGS has the complete PC spoiler. *grin*
MDV Forum Awards and More!
12/22/06 - Happy Friday to everyone!  This marks for me a four day weekend and the coming Christmas Holiday.  In the meantime, the voting has ended for the MDV Forum Awards 2006 -- and the winners have been announced here.  Thanks to everyone that participated and congrats to everyone that was nominated and also to the winners.  Next week will be something new on MDV.  That is, the writer's guild has determined the best six articles on MDV from the year.  Each one will be posted from Monday to Saturday.  Then, on Saturday, a vote will be posted and you, the visitors of MDV, will choose the best article from MDV of 2006.  More info will follow.  Many thanks for visiting MDV!  ~Streetz~
Going on vacation...
11/4/06 - I am happy to announce I am going on vacation for the first time in several years and in less than 24 hours I will be in sunny and warm Florida.  What does this mean for all of you?  This means the main site won't be updated for about a week (although I may find a way around that).  However, don't despair!  There are plenty of things to do on MDV. Such as...
  • You could check out some of the old Combo Pages found here.
  • You could check out the archives of articles over the past two years here; I'm sure you haven't read them all.
  • You could participate in the Newbie Mafia game which is currently waiting for a few more players.
  • You could Submit an Article to MDV (email them to streetz@magicdeckvortex.com).
  • You could peruse the endless deck database sorted by color and deck type.
  • You could check out this month's featured links and let me know what you think of them.
  • You could *gasp* join the forums and participate in hundreds of activities.
  • You could, if already a member of the forum, join an MDV Clan.
  • You could participate (or just look) at the Time Spiral Combo Thread!!!
  • You could use the Creature Visual Spoilers to build some crazy-wacky-cool deck.
  • You could participate in the MDV 2006 Forum Awards!!!
  • You could stare at the home page long enough to see the hidden message!

Point here is that even if there aren't new things posted on the main page, there are a plethora of things to do on the site or through the site.  I hope everyone can appreciate the webmaster of this humble website getting a break.  See you all in a week.  ~Streetz~

Upgraded Server... again...
10/29/06 - Given the recent server issues, and the fact that MDV gets more traffic than I think, I've had to upgrade the servers (again).  The last upgrade was suppose to be better, when in fact, it was and wasn't.  I won't go into that, as it's a whole article by itself.  However the new server has 60% more storage, 42% more bandwidth, 50% more guaranteed RAM, 0% more max ram and 50% more guaranteed CPU.  Oh, and 33% more cost... So, in summary, it SHOULD be better than any server I've ever had.  Worst case scenario, I'll have to upgrade again and pay 25% more for the next best server.  If that doesn't work, looks like its a dedicated server.  Anyway, thanks as always for visiting Magic Deck Vortex and making it one of the best casual MTG sites around.  ~Streetz~
Having Server Issues...
10/27/06 - Well, the server was down for a few hours earlier today (from about noon to seven or eight ... so I guess that's more than a few hours).  Anyway, my host didn't know why the server went down but for some reason the site is still slow since they rebooted.  I have put in a request to my host to find out why as I sincerely doubt there are a hoard of people on MDV on a Friday night!  Anyway, hopefully this will be resolved soon so I ask that you be patient in the meantime.  Thanks.  ~John Streetz~

vB Forums Up and Running!!! ... but...
7/3/06 - Well, the good news is that the vB forums are running and working with only a few things to fix up (like smileys).  The bad news is that in the transfer, all of the users were lost.  I had to make a call between losing all of the user accounts and losing many of the recent posts.  Considering some very important stuff has been posted recently, I had to make the call to keep the posts and lose the users.

I am sorry about that, but this just means you will have to re-register for the forums.  In order to keep all of your previous posts, you will need to register using the same name you had from the previous forum setup.  Then, contact an admin to let us know you need your post count fixed and also let us know of any user groups you were a member of.

Speaking of admins, Death_By_Beebles is now a full admin for the forums.  Lionden_56 is stepping down as a full-admin but retain status as a co-admin.  Your admin staff includes me (Streetz), a simple façade (formerly ButteBlues), Death_By_Beebles and lionden_56.  The registration page is found here

Know that these new vBulletin forums are about 200% more powerful and efficient than both phpBB and Invision.  Once some of the custom perks and smileys are added back in, things will be running as normal and better.  Thank you for visiting Magic Deck Vortex!  ~Streetz~

Update on the forums.
6/15/06 -  Well, the upgrade to the forums is almost complete.  The new forum software has been installed thanks to ButteBlues and aPo.  However, there are a few mods that have to be installed and all of the user groups and private forums have to be re-instated (manually).  So the forums will be down for a bit longer.  As mentioned previously, be sure to read some articles you've missed or check out the extensive combo and deck databases on MDV until the forums return.  Thank you for your patience and thank you for visiting MDV.  ~Streetz~
Forums will be down for a bit.
6/13/06 -  The techie staff of Magic Deck Vortex will be upgrading the forums.  And it will be a significant upgrade.  Please be patient while the forums are down and I anticipate them to be down for less than 24 hours.  Check out the deck database or read up on some old articles while you're waiting.  Thanks for visiting Magic Deck Vortex!  ~Streetz~
Sorry for the lack of updates...
6/5/06 -  Sorry about the lack of updates the past week plus, but I've have a few unfortunate things happen and thus have been a bit overwhelmed.  However, the forums are still very alive and well so while there are lack of updates on the main site you can always check out the rumor mill, games, magic general or deck forum sections for things do to on the site... or you could join a clan.  Thanks for always visiting MDV!!!  ~Streetz~
Attention Programmers!  MDV needs help.
4/13/06 -  MDV needs your help and if you are a programmer - you might be the one to help.  MDV is in need of a card search function.  Perhaps one better than any other card search function on the net (for Magic: the Gathering cards).  If you think you are capable of such a feat and/or have any comments pertaining to this task, please post about it in this thread.  There is more information in that thread as well.  Thanks for being a part of Magic Deck Vortex -- What the casual players use!!!  ~Streetz~
Articles and Features start again next week.
4/6/06 -  Because of the change of servers and the fact that MDV's domain name isn't fully propagated throughout the web, I am holding off on posting any relevant and important material until next Monday.  I don't want anyone missing out on new material on MDV.  In the meantime, I'll just do some background updates.  Thanks for visiting MDV! NOTE: The forums are fully active.  To access them go to here. ~Streetz~
What happened?
4/4/06 -  ...you ask yourself.  Magic Deck Vortex overloaded the server it was on, which was a shared server.  My host suspended MDV's account because this wasn't the first time it happened.  I guess I'm getting more traffic than the server can handle nowadays.  In the meantime, I have purchased a VPS server and all of the site information has transferred there(here).  The new IP address for the site is currently being spread across the net.  Again, I appreciate your patience throughout all of this.  The new server will ultimately mean better MDV.  Thanks for visiting MDV!
Do you live in Illinois?
3/19/06 -  If you do, let me know what hobby shops you play at in Illinois (or shortly over the border).  I would like to put a page together for Illinois players including hobby shops that sell and play Magic, tournament locales, and so forth.  Please post where you shop, play at in this thread.  Once I have enough information, I will post it on it's own reference page.  Thanks for visiting MDV!   ~Streetz~
MDV now has a Techie: BB!!!
3/15/06 -   If you don't know BB, he is also known at ButteBlues.  He has history on several forums including the popular ManaTap and MTGSalvation.  Please welcome him to the MDV community and if you have any specific suggestions for upgrades to the MDV forum, post it in this thread.  Also, welcome him in that thread too.  Thanks, ButteBlues- the official and only Magic Deck Vortex Techie!  This is very exciting stuff for me.  So many things to do, so little time.  *grin* ~Streetz~
Druid Week is officially over.
3/13/06 -   You're all sad, I know. (Or maybe not!)  Anyway, druid week here on Magic Deck Vortex is officially over.  There was a plethora of material... in fact, the most material MDV has ever had in one week.  I owe a big thanks to all of the MDV writers that contributed to this to make it successful.  Also, I want to know your opinions.  Please post your comments about druid week in this forum thread - good or bad!  Thanks for visiting MDV!  By the way, if you haven't seen all of the stuff that happened during Druid Week, please click here.  ~Streetz~
MDV is looking for a forum TECHIE!
3/2/06 -  I am looking for someone well versed in phpBB and programming that is willing to donate their time to MDV as a forum techie.  There are many things I would like to implement into the forum, but lack the time, knowledge and expertise.  And thus, if you are willing to take up this duty, every MDV member, including me - the webmaster - would be VERY appreciative.  Please email me if you are interested.  Oh yes, and thanks for visiting MDV!  ~Streetz~
Added Nav Bar to 2006 Article Pages.
2/26/06 -  The other day I noticed this cool thing on Londes that linked to the most popular content at the bottom of their articles.  I thought this was so cool that I added the same thing to MDV's article - a section at the bottom of the page that links to the top 5+ articles on MDV during the year of 2006.  I hope this helps you navigate better through the articles as well as provide you with an opportunity to check the best articles on MDV without having to dig.  Thanks for visiting MDV!  Note: This featured is based on the most popular pages recorded in my Awstats.  ~Streetz~
Wizard of the Coast files suit against RE!
1/20/06.  Just when you think the drama is over, WotC files suit against RancoredElf!  Please find all of the information in this PR release on www.wizards.com.  If you are lazy, let me quote the opening paragraph:

JAN. 19, 2006 (RENTON, WASH.) – Wizards of the Coast, Inc., the world leader in hobby gaming and a subsidiary of Hasbro, Inc. (NYSE: HAS), today filed suit in U.S. District Court in Washington against Daron Rutter of Vancouver, British Columbia, an administrator of the website "MTG Salvation." The complaint alleges that Rutter intentionally and repeatedly posted on the site Wizards’ proprietary information he unlawfully obtained. Specifically alleged is the unauthorized display of prototypes from planned releases of Wizards' world-famous Magic: The Gathering® Trading Card Game (TCG). Also named in the lawsuit are individuals whom the company believes provided Rutter with Wizards of the Coast trade secrets. The names of these individuals are not known and they are identified as “JOHN DOES 1-10” in the complaint.

I can't stand here and let this happen.  Assuming RE will get a huge fine for this, we have to plan out how we are going to help RE.  I don't think RE should be held responsible for every rumor that every existed... or for every card that was posted before the prerelease of any set.  Perhaps this is a scare tactic from WotC... perhaps it isn't.  Please discuss this in the MDV forums here.  Thanks for visiting MDV.  ~Streetz~

Nominate 2005's best MDV article!
1/10/06.  The top 5 articles from 2005 will be posted again sometime in February.  In the meantime, I can't choose all of the best articles myself - I need you to nominate them for me.  Once all of the nominations are received (deadline is 1/19), we will then vote on the top 10 (or 8 - haven't decided yet).  To see all of the articles from 2005, go to the article archives, found here.  To post your nominations (you get 2) and to check out more rules, go to this forum thread. In the meantime, thanks for visiting MDV and for checking out of the articles on it.  And thanks to the writers who have written for MDV!!  ~Streetz~
Please pray for EinsteinMonkey.
1/5/06.  I have just received news of some very unfortunate circumstances for our dedicated moderator - EinsteinMonkey.  He has recently been diagnosed with cancer and has been in the hospital for many days.  I ask that everyone pray for Einstein that he might overcome the cancer and be strong throughout the recovery process and treatments.  I know I will praying for him.  I ask that you do the same.  EinsteinMonkey needs your prayer and support throughout these times in his life.  Why to bad things always have to happen to good people?  ~Streetz~ P.S. If you don't believe in prayer, please keep him in your thoughts and do whatever you can to support EM.
Magic Deck Vortex gets a mini review!
12/13/05 - Ever heard of a site called Critical Gamers?  No?  Well, I hadn't either but they've heard of Magic Deck Vortex!  They wrote a brief article, linked here, about magic 'combos' and referenced Magic Deck Vortex.  I always think it is very cool to get reviewed by another site - and this review was even good!  The last good review I got was from a forum site (linked here if you care) but that was from over two years ago (I think).  Thanks for visiting Magic Deck Vortex!!! ~Streetz~
MDV now has it's OWN forum!!!
9/10/05 - I will be commenting on this sometime tomorrow, but in the meantime, since MTP is moving it's forums and starting over, MDV will now have its own forum right here on Magic Deck Vortex.. not somewhere else.  Like I mentioned, I will go into detail why I chose to do this tomorrow.  In the meantime, Enjoy!  ~Streetz~  The link to it is above.
A word about MDV's deck definitions...
9/1/05.  I have not been able to update this page like I would like to so I have opened it back up to you all.  However, the majority of the primers listed to the right are now outdated and many of the deck descriptions below can either be expanded upon, deleted or revised.  If you are an expert of the deck types, please let me know and help me update this page and the primers. Once the forums are back up, you can discuss this subject in this thread. Thanks for visiting MDV.  ~Streetz~
MTP/MDV Forums down for a week.
8/31/05.  Magic Trading Post, home of the MDV forums, will be down for a week (+/-) while the site gets a 'face lift'.  To be honest, I'm not too sure what all of this will entail, but hopefully it will be a better forum overall.  In the meantime, hold on to your forum posts and save them for next week (most likely Wednesday) when the forum is back up.  Thanks for visiting Magic Deck Vortex.  Oh, and if you have something you need to say and can't wait, you can always email me!  ~Streetz~
NEW! MDV Search... check it out!
8/30/05.  MDV now has a search button, click on the link above, that you can search all of MDV with a search term and simple click.  No more Google searches that may only grab 40% of the pages on MDV.  This searches ALL of MDV. This is in it's early stages and there are a few problems. Know I spent about an hour playing around with it tonight to try and perfect it.  However, it's still not perfect.  If you find any glitches or errors in this, please let me know in the forums or via email.  In the meantime, enjoy it.  Thanks for visiting Magic Deck Vortex!  ~Streetz~
MDV is #3 on Alexa.com!!
7/31/05 -  And yet again.. another really big WOW... in just less than two weeks, MDV has jumped up another two positions on the Alexa charts from #5 to #3.  Wow... above Brainburst!  Who would have ever thought!?  Alexa tracks the most popular sites by traffic and then sorts them by category (Sports, Trading Card Games, News, Etc.).  Alexa has a Magic the Gathering section and Magic Deck Vortex is now number #3.  Very cool.  All I need now is a few more reviews to make me happy.  Note that this may just be a temporary position.. but at least I know MDV is in the top 10 and in the top 10 on www.alexa.com to stay.  That's quite an achievement in my eyes. For just a little casual site that's been around for three years come August I think that's great. Thanks for visiting Magic Deck Vortex... and may you review MDV on Alexa with ease. Hot Linking turned off.
7/21/05 -  While MDV has expanded it's bandwidth significantly, there are too many people hot linking to images on Magic Deck Vortex.  Because of this I have temporarily turned off hot linking and given access to only a few sites for this.  This will cause problems for anyone using certain routers since most of the images will come up "x"'ed.  If you have any problems with this, please let me know.  You can request access to MDV images and links if you ask.  When 100 sites are 'stealing' images and using up my bandwidth it's not cool... which is why I have done this.  Thanks for visiting MDV.  ~Streetz~
MDV is #5 on Alexa.com!!
7/11/05 -  Yet again.. another big WOW... in just ten days MDV has jumped up another two positions on the Alexa charts from #7 to #5.  Alexa tracks the most popular sites by traffic and then sorts them by category (Sports, Trading Card Games, News, Etc.).  Alexa has a Magic the Gathering cards section and Magic Deck Vortex is now number #5.  Very cool.  All I need is a few more reviews to make me happy.  Anyone want to review MDV via www.alexa.com?  I wonder how long MDV will sustain position #5... right below Londes, Brainburst, MTGnews and Wizards.  Anyway, thanks for continuing support by visiting MDV!  ~Streetz~
MDV is #7 on Alexa.com
7/1/05 -  Wow... in just three weeks MDV has jumped up another position on the Alexa charts.  Alexa tracks the most popular sites by traffic and then sorts them by category (Sports, Trading Card Games, News, Etc.).  Alexa has a Magic the Gathering cards section and Magic Deck Vortex is now number #7.  Very cool.  All I need is a few reviews to make me happy.  Anyone want to review MDV via www.alexa.com?  Mind you MDV may fluctuate back to #8 in the next few months, but I think MDV is here to stay at 7 and then maybe onto #6.  Thanks for visiting MDV!  ~Streetz~
MDV is #8 on Alexa.com
6/7/05 -  A neat little fact.  Alexa tracks the most popular sites by traffic and then sorts them by category (Sports, Trading Card Games, News, Etc.).  Alexa has a Magic the Gathering cards section and Magic Deck Vortex is number #8 currently.  Kind of cool.  All I need is a few reviews to make me happy.  Anyone want to review MDV via www.alexa.com?  Thanks for visiting MDV!  ~Streetz~
MDV looking for writers.
4/7/05 - Magic Deck Vortex is looking for good, talented writers to post weekly musings on casual magic.  If you have a knack for putting together an unusual but fun deck and like to write about it, please email me.  This could be your chance to have your name in black and white on Magic Deck Vortex.  Plus, now that there is a forum (hosted by Magic Trading Post) we can all discuss your article.

I am not looking for tournament reports, nor am I looking for a play by play analysis of your current Extended Deck.  I just want some wacky, fun articles about random casual decks or philosophy.  This can include any casual format including singleton, normal casual magic, group, and so on.

If you are serious, please send me an example of your work pertinent to Magic: the Gathering- or just send me your background of magic and let me know your reasons for wanting to write for Magic Deck Vortex.  I am very serious about this, and if it pans out well, there could be monetary supplements for your work in the future... although now I cannot offer much.

Also, know that this isn't a plot on the my (webmaster's) part to get more traffic or become wealthier.  It's just an effort to fulfill something I have wanted to do for along time... have articles.  Casual Articles.  I would write them myself if I had to time or the artistic writing skills necessary for the position.  But I don't.

That said, email me or talk about this in the forums here.

Thanks for visiting Magic Deck Vortex. ~John Streetz~

MDV's FORUM.
3/25/05 - As many have requested in the past, for a forum that is, there now is one.  Magic Trading Post is the place where you can go to find this forum.  Thanks goes to MTP for giving MDV a place to let us all chat about the happenings of Magic Deck Vortex.

There is a section devoted to MDV and a lot of other forums to discuss in.  I would encourage you to check it out, register and then tell me what you think about the site.  This is a great opportunity for you to help shape MDV into one of the greatest sites devoted to Magic on the web.

Thanks as always for visiting Magic Deck Vortex!!! ~John Streetz~
