fell into the trap again. I tried to reply to this guy with
something along the lines of "No, Idiot... it's a cobra"...
but it came back again. While I thank everyone for their support
and help in making this a good site, I do not appreciate this.
If anyone knows who this guy is or what's his problem, please smack
him around for me a bit. In the meantime, for more information
regarding these kind of posts, please read the "Missing

RE: Level
Headedness Update, 11/10/03
Jasper
Smeulders writes: Hey Streetz, I'm dying to look forward to the results of the Leveler-Contest. With some feedback I think I would be inspired to build some more decks for your database. Could you please update the page
LEVEL
HEADED NESS. After all, the deadline was 10 days ago! Thx in forward, Jasper
Smeulders.
11/24/03 John Streetz writes: I
sincerely apologize to all of the contestants from Level Headed Ness
for the delay in posting the page. I should let everyone know
that I am just like you and that I work two jobs with an occasional
night off. I am looking to finish up reviewing the entries
tomorrow night and posting the information on Wednesday. I will
be honest, the CELIXIA card set has
taken away time from the contest review. That and trying to keep
a few other sections up to date (like the combos,
the deck database and the deck
definitions page) I have lacked in a main feature of MDV. Thank
you, everyone, for your patience here. Also note, I may be
extending the MUST HAVE THEME contest to give me a little more time to
work on a few other things.

Missin Elementals, 11/3/03

11/3/03 John Streetz writes: When
I first read this I was flabbergasted. I thought to myself 'who
is this guy and what's his problem?' Then I though about
it. This is a good opportunity to finally put together that page
of visitor comments so I could explain why things are missing,
incomplete, and so on.
You See, David, one thing you
probably don't understand is that this website is run by one
guy. A guy just like you with probably less free time than you
and thus certain things can't get done. And when there is
time... that guy (me) who does everything (almost) for the site may
want to fool around with MTGLAIR's Card Editor or just search the web
for decks... or play a little MTG or watch TV or whatever. My
point here is that I cannot do everything all at once. Which is
more important, updating the deck database so that all of the decks
look the same with links or do I work on the next mechanic feature for
cumulative upkeep or do I update the creature lists to the new layout
... or... or .. or.
There are many facets to this site
all of which I do. The only thing I don't do are some of the
deck clinics, some of the deck descriptions and some of the content
double-checking and secondary review. With all that in mind I
ask you to take a look at the Elementals Page again and tell me what
the date is on the last update. I bet you it is before Mirrodin came
out (and it is) and thus I haven't gotten to update the page
yet. Be patient and know it will be done sometime in the
future.
I am not a www.starcitygames.com
or a www.brainburst.com
which have tens and twenties of people working on stuff for the site..
nor do I make any obscene amount of money from this endeavor. I
do it for pure fun and enjoyment. In the future, please submit
your comments in a more positive and helpful tone. Thanks!

RE: Deck
Submissions, 11/2/2003
Tim
Ellenbecker writes: I
found your site about a month ago and have been busily exploring it. It's
great that this type of resource is available. I've noticed
that you list the decks from www.magicthegathering.com.
Do you also list the decks that are published by Scrye? Anyway,
here is my first attempt at submitting decks. Let me know if you
have any pointers on how you would prefer to see things. I
generally build 2 - 5 decks per week, so these are a couple that did
well against my group...11/3/03 John Streetz writes: Do
I list decks from SCRYE. I will be honest - No. The reason
is simple. When I decided to choose between two magazines to
subscribe to, Inquest won. SCRYE doesn't have enough Magic: the
Gathering material anymore to be worth a purchase. I will admit
there are just a handful of decks from SCRYE, such as Biorhythm's
Red, Fast, Pulse, but not many more than that. If you
have a few decks that aren't on the site that you found in SCRYE,
please email them to me. I am always willing to expand the
database. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the site and thanks
for writing me.

RE: Wrong
Deck Name, 10/29/03
Michal Kutálek writes:
Hello there, you have a wrong name of Millstone deck. On this site - http://www.streetzuite.com/magic/FC_millstone.htm The 3rd deck
"Karty + Popis" it is in Czech and it means "Cards + Description" :) I do not know the right name of this deck, you may try to write to its author - Jakub.skala@volny.cz. BTW, your
MTG website is good and very interesting (I think that not only for me). Thanks for it. 11/3/03 John Streetz writes: Thanks,
Michal. I am always interested in fixing international errors
such as fixing what you mentioned. If anyone knows of any other
errors in decks from another language, please email me. In the
meantime, thanks for visiting MDV and emailing me with this
information. Since that Millstone card feature was made, I have
changed the name of the deck to Millstone
Lockdown.
On another interesting note, the site
this deck came from also did a feature on my site linked here.
I can't understand much of it, even after I tried to translate it, but
I think that is cool! The site shows screen pics of my site from
earlier this year as well as goes through each section of the
site. Anyway... thank you, Michal.

welcome. I am planning of doing those pages as well as more
visual spoilers for past sets however I have to complete the
Cumulative Upkeep mechanic features as well as the contest entries
from Level Headed Ness and the Top 30 Zombies list. All are in
the works. Keep checking back for more updates.

*BLUSH*. I hope you will enjoy it for a long time. It
always makes me feel good about the time I invest into this site when
I get emails like this. If you have any way of making this site
better, please let me know.
Also, I am always curious to find out
where people find my site first. I get quite a few hits from www.google.com
and www.mtgcity.com as well as www.mtgnews.com
and the wizards message boards. But anyway, I digress...

RE: Arabian
Nights correction, 9/30/03
Cory
K. writes: First off - thanks for an awesome site. I've just recently returned to Magic from about a 5 year hiatus, and your site has really helped me catch up on what I've missed. Second - minor correction for your Arabian Nights visual spoiler. Under lands you've erroneously included a mountain. Thanks, and keep up the great work.John Streetz writes: Thanks.
I have fixed that. By the way, nice word choice there... :)
Actually, scratch that. (11/5/03) I was reading through one of
my old INQUEST magazines while visiting the John, and to quote, here
is what it says: "The Arabian Nights mountain is the only basic
land to appear in a non-standalone expansion. It was put on the
common sheet to fill a gap. it's virtually the same as it's Beta
coutnerpart, with one minor exception -- it's affected by City in a
Bottle, the Arabian Nights artifact which buries all cards from the
AN expansion." How's that for some needless
information. I will be adding it back to the AN page soon!
Thanks for sparking this little bit of information.

RE:
cards-show, 9/28/03
Bas Hickendorff writes: I really like your site (
especially the pages where you can see al the cards of a set). But I have a suggestion. When you click on a card now the card shows on the
screen and when you want to see an other card after that you have to re-load the entire page (which takes very long). So my suggestion is using a pop-up screen where the card is displayed so the page is still on your screen. John Streetz writes: I wish I
had something great to tell you here.. but I don't. Since all of
the pages on this site are not automated by php script, I do not have
the capabilities to do this without about 3 months of individual page
rebuilding... and I have already had to redo the whole site
once. That was not fun, let me tell you. Anyway, MDV
caters best to the DSL goers... I would suggest getting it.
Until then, I will try to figure out an easier way to do this for you
and the others out there on a slow modem.

RE: Creature
Type Lists, 10/27/03
Steve
Klein writes:
First, I would like to say that I only recently stumbled upon your website, and find it to be a very enjoyable and efficient Magic resource, as well as a great means of sharing ideas and info with other players. It is a very well-run website and I look forward to visiting often.
I am e-mailing in response to your updated Creature Type Lists. I just thought it would be interesting to include the type "Human" which just appeared in the Mirrodin block. I am an 8-year veteran Magic player, and do not like this particular change in the game (or the new card design - but that's a
separate issue), but find it interesting just the same. It would be a small list right now, but common sense tells me that Wizards will build upon this new "creature type."
Keep up the good work.John Streetz writes: Thanks.
I try. :) The humans list has been added. Thank you for
the suggestion and the compliments.

RE: You
win, I have never received a faster response, 9/16/03
Metabol
writes:
I'm referring to the whole site but specifically the images of the unreleased Mirrodin. Viewing your site is like the great feeling of opening the packs for the first time. I don't suppose you have higher resolution images, do you? I'd love to get the whole set of 8th so I can make 8x of each to just to teach my daughter and have fun. I already spend way to much money on the real thing. In any case, keep up the excellent work. If your site is not one of the top three MTG sites in the world, I'd be
surprised. John Streetz writes: BTW,
Metabol is referring to the quick reply I sent him to an email he sent
me regarding the MIRRODIN spoiler I had posted. Anyway, I am definitely
not one of the top 3 sites for MTG (I think) but thank
you. I like to try to be a step ahead on new sets with thanks to
www.mtgnews.com.
