PTFunk is basically Suicide Black splashing green for creatures, removal (Pernicious Deed) and of course hate cards. Suicide Black is a bit faster, isn’t affected by non-basic hate and has Sink Hole, but PTFunk has enchantment removal, better creature removal, better hate cards and is better against aggro. So PTFunk is Suicide Black for the mixed and random metagames. Suicide Black and PTFunk are played pretty much the same way:
1. Early threat or disruption
2. Protect the threat with disruption, disrupt your opponent even more or play more threats
3. Repeat step 2 or if you're in trouble clean the table with Deed and repeat step 2
4. Win or hope for Yawgmoth’s Will or Demonic Tutor

The main deck should be customized for your metagame, you don't want Spiritmongers against control or combo, Mongers are just too slow. Just try what suits your playing style. Masticores can be played instead of Spiritmongers and additional creatures in the form of Blurred Mongoose are nice to have in control heavy metagame. There are many good black and green cards, you could even try Nantuko Shades, but in that case I would play painlands instead of Forests and replace Wooded Foothills with Polluted Deltas. For more ideas look at some Suicide Black decklists.

The typical sideboard has some of these: Smother, Choke, Tormod’s Crypt, Naturalize, Diabolic Edict and Wasteland. I’ve heard of people playing Scragnoth in control heavy metagame, but I haven’t tried so I can’t be sure if they’re worth it. Im not going to tell you what to board in and out and against what, just use common sense (no Necropotence against Sligh or other fast aggro decks, Choke is good against blue and so on...).
