11/02:
Millstone is a staple card in most 'Mill' decks. Hence, Millstone
has created its own subtype of decks also known as DECKING decks, MILL
decks, LIBRARY DEPLETION and MILL ENGINES. These deck types all have
one thing in mind: decking your opponent. To deck means to make an
opponent run out of cards. When an opponent cannot draw another
card, they lose the game. Quite an ingenious way to win. Now
know that without cards like Traumatize... those damn Battle of Wits decks
would not be decked with just Millstone alone.
Millstone is cheap, efficient and a
good way to use your extra mana. You can use it in combination
with 'Time Ebb' like cards that return a permanent to the top of it's
owner's library. You can use it in combination with other mill
cards like Ambassador Laquatus, Grindstone, Whetstone and Altar of
Dementia. In an effort to show you all of the decks you could put
MILLSTONE in, I have found 10+ decks of all colors from around the net
that you can see below. Please let the webmaster know if you have
a MILLSTONE deck that is not on the list below.
While
millstone puts cards from the library into the graveyard, there are
other cards that do the same thing except they remove these cards from
the game. Below you will find other cards that have a similar or
same effect. Please note not all of the cards do this 'mill'
effect to your opponent. Cards like Tolarian Serpent and Deep
Spawn do this to the controller of the card. Although, cards like
Donate and Legerdemain can really be to your advantage with those
cards. Also, below, you will find cards that remove cards from a
library (Scour or Extract) as well as cards that have an activated or
triggered ability that caused a card to be removed from the libary
(Saprazzan Breaker / Cephalid Illusionist).

If
you have a deck using Millstone that is worthy to post along with the
above decks, then please email the webmaster @ streetz@magicdeckvortex.com.
Know that most of the decks,
if not already, will be added to the main database soon or when the next
card is featured. This was also done with the decks featured with
the TRISKELION card. Thank you for visiting Magic Deck Vortex!
And also.. on another note, I was able
to find most of these decks on the internet using GOOGLE and ALLTHEWEB.
I just would search for "4 Millstone" or "Millstone"
"4 Alter of Dementia". This type of searching really helps
in narrowing down decks. If you ever wanted to find a deck using
Mundungu, for instance, search for "4 Mundungu". Little
tip for the day when searching the net for decks. Fortunately, I
have most of them already posted on this site. =)
