MDV Featured Article - Fit the Flavor 2008 - Round 4! - by Chris Newton - posted 7/21/08 - discuss here

Here it is… the Fourth and Final Round of the contest. There are a lot of people still alive and in the hunt. How badly do you want to win?

You are going to have your chance, as you can score big points here in Round 4.

Let’s get the show started!

Wow, Round 4 already. How time flies.

Let’s kick the show off with the first of your two Flavor Texts…

“Everyone wants to go to heaven, but no one wants to die.”

It is an interesting concept that was heard on local radio the other day. While it is a complete contradiction of morals, it is an interesting concept regardless.

But hey, how could I make you read the rest of this fine article if I didn’t tease you for a while with saying the second flavor is somewhere below? True, you could just skim and get the next one, but what fun would that be?

In the last weeks contest article, I mentioned that I would be revealing to you a sub-contest. That rings true, and here it is:

Fit the Flavor 2008 Art Contest

That’s right folks; we have ourselves an art contest. But it is not just an art contest. What you need to do is find a card designed by a contestant in this contest which scored a 25. Repeat, the card must have received a perfect score to be eligible. Upon selecting a qualifying card, you need to find a piece of art that will fit the cards flavor and design.

Your submission should follow the rules of the Monthly Card Creation Contest (found here).

You are creating a completely rendered card with the art, card text, mana costs, flavor, etc. You also need to give credit to the artist in the appropriate location.

This contest is not a part of the Fit the Flavor 2008 scoring, so it will not be impacting the final results. It will be its own separate contest, and will be scored as an Intermediate contest, resulting in ISSx3.

This is a very generous score possibility for a sub-contest, so make certain that you take advantage of it. For the record, both the main and sub contests are applied to the June Scorecard, as that is when the contest began and will be impacted.

Just go ahead and feel free to ignore the fact that it is already the middle of July. That is just your imagination anyways.

And Now!!! Without anymore teasers, I present to you the final Fit the Flavor 2008 Flavor Text…

Drum Roll please…

“Without him, the world would not know freedom. Without him, the world would not know war and death.”

Round Three Submission Thread is Here.

Round Three Discussion Thread is Here.

Get started. I’ll see you next week with the results in the Fit the Flavor 2008 Finale show.
