Thanks
can be offered to the guys who all did really well in round two. Why should you
be thanking them? It is because of them (almost half of the players received
perfect scores) that I have been forced to sit at the drawing board and figure
out how exactly to increase the difficulty level of this competition.
As I told them in the discussion forum, I have a plan; I
always have a plan. It just so happened that I did not have a plan for this
situation, but that does not mean that the creative evil genius that lives in my
head doesn’t thrive on competition.
You are going to have to step inside to see what is in
store for you this week however.
Now
you have done it. You went ahead and ticked off the judge. Way to go fellas. You
all can’t line up and hit the ball out of the park and expect to keep sailing on
as if things can remain this easy.
What will the big boss man Streetz say to Tynion if he lets
ten people finish the contest with perfect scores?!
What I hold in my hands today seems to be a pretty good
answer to that question.
You won’t. There won’t be 10 perfect scores. The bar has
been officially raised. The standard of competition has been met, so we may as
well test you guys and see exactly how good, or lucky, you really are.
In this round, you will be provided with three card
designs. Your first task is to figure out a single Flavor Text that will be able
to fit all three cards. Once you have your Flavor Text, you then need to design
your card according to the Flavor Text that you designed.
This is a tough round. It will take you some time to noodle
it out, and you may be thinking to yourself, “This should have been the bonus
card round.” Well you may or may not be happy to know that the contest has a
true BONUS! round coming. It has just been slid in between weeks three and four.
Call this week 3.5 if you will.
First, let’s get a quick update on the scoreboard as of the

Editor's Humorous Note: Don't worry
everyone -- I made sure everyone's name was spelled correctly.
~Streetz~
Ok; so now you know where you stand. Can you reach the top
of the board with three card submissions left? The going is getting tough now…
are you going to quit?
Here are your three cards:
Angel of Ill Destiny 2WW
Creature – Angel
Flying, Vigilance
Threshold – When a creature is put into the graveyard from play, put an Omen
counter on ~.
BBB, Remove three Omen counters: ~ gains +4/+4, Protection from White, and
Trample
2/3
Frenzied Raptor 1GG
Creature – Raptor
G: ~ Gains +1/+1
2RR: ~ Gains Doublestrike
2/1
Forge of Bogardan 3
Artifact
T: Add R to your mana pool.
1R, T: ~ deals one damage to target creature or player. Add an ore counter
to ~.
2RRR, sacrifice ~: ~ deals damage equal to the number of ore counters on it
to target creature or player.
There are your three cards. Remember your steps:
1.) Create a Flavor Text that goes with the three cards
provided.
2.) Design a card to Fit the Flavor of the text you created.
3.) Submit both the Flavor Text and the Card Design in your
submission post.
4.) Stay tuned to see how others are fairing in the contest.
5.) Figure a way to slow Azrael down, he is killing you guys.
That’s it folks. Time is a ticking.
You can expect a sub-contest to be revealed on Monday, so
be prepared. The contest will not count towards your Fit the Flavor 2008 score,
but will be fun and interesting regardless.
I’ll see you on Monday.
