MDV Featured Article - Exit 267 - Ravnica... We're Here Kid! - by FIRE REIGN 2 - posted 9/18/05 - discuss here

Having withdraws from no rumors yet? Sorry about that guys. I was really contemplating whether or not I should keep writing once the full spoiler was released over at MTGS. But I think Streetz and the fans want me to keep putting articles on the table. So, I’ll just keep to my job without any complaining.

Well, with the full spoiler released, it looks like Ravnica should be a pretty good set with a lot of new and interesting mechanics. I’m not sure whether or not it met the power-level that it was supposed to, but who wants an overpowered block that takes the fun away from the game?

Most of the gold cards do pack quite a punch though. The ones that I can think of would be Watchwolf and Gleancrawler. With a low price for a high power/toughness, and with no drawback, these cards seem like they could be very good in all types of play.

Well, you guys don’t want to hear me babble on about what I think about the cards and the set. You want to see them for yourselves, and make your own judgments. Let’s get right to it then, shall we?

1.) This will be the banner for next week over at MagicTheGathering.com. It contains some of the artwork that we’ve seen, and some that is still to come.

2.) There are also a few more pictures that came over from mtg.com. These include the next two Arcana's, the feature article’s display picture, and MaRo’s next display picture.

3.) MDV has recently received its own forum and Rumor Mill. Get Registered, Sign In, and start talking to Streetz and the other members here at MDV. Also, read up on the latest news and rumors.  The link to the Rumor mill is below:

4.) MagicTheGathering.com has recently finished some more guild summaries on their Ravnica page. The Boros Legion, the Selesnya Conclave, and the House Dimir are the guilds that have currently been discussed. The Golgari guild will be discussed next Wednesday, September 21.

5.) The Pre-Release tournaments for Ravnica are scheduled for September 24. So make sure you read up on the cards in Ravnica before next Saturday. And be one of the first to the doors so you can receive your promotional Gleancrawler. And don’t forget about the Release Tournaments after that, taking place on October 7.

6.) From a Dutch magazine, we’ve received the artwork for Plague Boiler. It shows a Golgari guild member high-tailing it away from the Boiler.

7. We’ve received the artwork for 3 of the 4 pre-constructed decks in Ravnica. We’ll have the artwork for the Selesnya Pre-con on Tuesday, in the Arcana.

8.) In the recent Arcana's, we’ve received quite a bit of basic land artwork and sketches. Here are just a few of those pictures.

9.) Check out MDV’s visual spoiler of Ravnica for the newest cards from Ravnica. Make sure to tell Streetz that he’s doing a great job keeping this thing updated.

10. Here’s some more artwork from Ravnica. These pictures come from two main sources; www.magicthegathering.com and a site called www.devir.es.

11.) And finally, here are some of the current cards not shown in the visual spoiler at this moment. Well, the foreign one kind of are in links in the name. I just wanted to show you people them, so you do not pass them up. I don’t think Streetz wanted to put them in the VS because you wouldn’t be able to understand them.  [Added Tolsimir  ~Streetz~]

Tolsimir Wolfblood

Copy Enchantment

Halcyon Glaze

Loxodon Hierarch

Moroii

Well, I think that sums up the majority of what I’ve got to say for this article. I hope this doesn’t break the image limit, as there were a whole lot of images that needed to be presented. Anyways, it looks as if Ravnica will be a great set with new mechanics, cool guilds, and masterful artwork.

Hopefully, you’ve enjoyed reading the article, even though there were a bunch more pictures than actual text. Being that information is coming in at a lot slower pace than it was before, I think that it might take me a long while until my next article is ready. But I’m pretty sure that I’m going to keep doing articles to help keep people informed on the newest set.

Thanks to the people here at MDV and to those over at MTGS for providing most of this information. And again, make sure to check out the new Rumor Mill for updates, because I will probably be accumulating information there, until I feel the need for another article. And don’t think that the search is over for information and cards, because we still are on the hunt for card images. So get up and start looking for some of them. And if you need help, make sure to visit the best sites for the latest news on Ravnica  (www.magicdeckvortex.com, www.starcitygames.com, www.magicthegathering.com, www.rancoredelf.com, and www.mtgsalvation.com.)
