notice one of the sites was a forum link to the WotC/Gleemox forums that
featured contact information for Magic Artists. I went through
that list tonight and updated MDV's Artist Links page. In the

was posted on Londes Idol for the first rounds of elimination in Londes
Idol. The topic: the best mechanic by WotC. Today, Londes
has posted the rest of the contenders for the contest with their article
on the best mechanic. Remember, this is just task one. Task
one should be posted later this week. Funny enough, one of my

on Londes Idol!!! - Kicker...
9/26/06 - Check out my article on Londes Idol where I

Idol - Week Four Winners...
9/6/06 - And finally, the week four winners on Londes
Idol have been announced. They are: third place - Dave Marshall,
second place - Bernie Makino, and first place - Dave Marshall. NOW!
Given that I'm one of the finalists I have to mention that the two tasks
have been announced. One is due next Monday and the other is due
next Wednesday. Wish me luck as I begin working on one easy task,
and one terribly difficult task. You can discuss this in the MDV

Idol - Week Three Winners...
8/23/06 - Londes Idol is still moving along and week 3
winners were announced earlier this week. The winners are 3rd place -
Cory Steeley, 2nd place - Jon Agley and 1st place - Joshua Justice. The
winners from all four rounds will be returning in approximately two
weeks from now to compete in the elimination rounds for prizes. Londes
Idol will be taking a week off to publish some columnist articles this
week and the final week of qualifications will be the first week of

Idol - Week Two Winners...
8/16/06 - Now done with week two, the fine staff of
Londes has weighted the articles written with voter results as well as
staff rating, and the results follow. According to Londes, there will be
a bit more variety of competitions that should be a little more
challenging and interesting. The winners are: 3rd - Evan De
Back, 2nd - Nick Louzon and 1st - Chris Robb. The winners will return 2
weeks from now to compete in the elimination rounds for prizes.
Londes Idol Week 3 has already begun; contestants are building
competitive decks on a budget. You can read more about this

Idol - Week One Winners...
8/7/06 - The first week of Londes Idol competition was
successful with only a few minor kinks according to Londes. The short
article and longer, in-depth article were weighed according by Londes
and the top four are as follows. 4th - Evan De Beck, 3rd - David
Kotsonis, 2nd - Steven David and 1st - John Streetz. The top three will
return in three weeks for the elimination rounds. The fourth place
winner will return this week for a chance to qualify. This week we have
another ten contestants. I highly encourage everyone to check out
the articles and vote for their favorites this week. This week, the 10
contestants will have a chance to complete with a specific task and a

Idol - Week One!
8/1/06 - Londes.com is hosting their own Idol - Londes
Idol. Starting Today, the first round of will begin. Ten
competitors will build a deck based on guidelines given that will be
posted on the website. Each person will write a short description of the
deck and why it is the best. Readers, both members and nonmembers, will
then be able to vote for the best deckbuilder and writer. The top three
out of ten will move on to the next round. The 4th and 5th place
finisher will be invited to compete in the next week's competition.
There will be four qualification rounds, all taking place in August, for
a 12-person finals in September. Click

8/1/06 - Last month I did a theme of humor related
sites. This month, I'm reverted back to the traditional Link
Featuring Fashion - five random sites. However, two of them aren't
so random -- they are both MTG artist sites. The other three are

7/2/06 - It's nice and all having so many links
available for all of you.. but when it comes time to update and check
them all, it sure can be a pain. I literally checked EVERY link on
the page today and had to delete about 20 or so on them. It's
unfortunate how many sites don't last long on the net. Anyway,

Keep is back!!!
10/29/05. I was surfing the web for
sites that link back to MDV and I stumbled across something quite
wonderful --
Crystal Keep is back!!! That's right, as of 9/7/05, Stephen
(over at CK) posted in his forums that the Magic site is receiving
updates. As of 10/23/05, Stephen noted that the Magic Ruling Summaries
(in all formats and the database search) were updated. While his oracle
database of cards has not been fully updated, he plans on doing it soon.
This is exciting news as I thought crystal keep was dead and was never
coming back as the great resource that it was. I am adding CK back
to my quick links section on the MDV home page and I hope that you visit
that site. It is truly a landmark for MTG related websites on the web.

8/17/05 - MDV no longer has a link 'site descriptions'
page. Why? Because it was unnecessary. Site
descriptions will now only be available to features links (which is
updated approximately every month). This page wasn't getting many
views every month and I found it to be a burden to update. Now you
can go to 'all links' section which has all of the sites listed by
category or the featured links page.. which highlights my picks for the

7/12/05 -
Yet again.. another big WOW... in just ten days MDV has jumped up another
two positions on the Alexa
charts from #7 to #5. Alexa tracks
the most popular sites by traffic and then sorts them by category (Sports,
Trading Card Games, News, Etc.). Alexa has a Magic the Gathering cards
section and Magic Deck Vortex
is now number #5.
Very cool. All I need is a few more reviews to make me
happy. Anyone want to review MDV via
www.alexa.com? I wonder how long MDV will sustain position #5...
right below Londes, Brainburst, MTGnews and Wizards. Anyway, thanks for

MDV to be more consistent with the rest of the site. This time it's
the links section. Links are now divided up into featured links, all
links, site descriptions, fictional card links, links to artist sites, and
how to link back to MDV. Hopefully, this will clean up the links page
