The following deck is a deck by me that is also one of my all time favorite decks. I created this deck over three years ago.. and I figured it was time to update it. The power cards? I will present those after the deck and a brief summary:

4 Brass Man
3 Brainstorm
2 Energy Vortex
1 Gulf Squid
3 Gush
1 Mana Vault
4 Snap
4 Stasis
4 Thran Turbine
2 Thwart
2 Yotian Soldier
4 Zephyr Falcon
1 Barrin, Master Wizard
1 Sol Ring
2 Claws of Gix

17 Island
2 Lonely Sandbar
2 Forsaken City
1 Tolarian Academy

Stasis by itself is a wonderful lockdown card.. but with the help of Energy Vortex, you almost have a lockdown to death (of your opponent). As long as you have the Thran Turbines in play, during your upkeep you can put X energy counters on the enchantment and watch your opponent take 3 damage during each of his or her upkeeps.**

For creature control, you have Snaps and nice flyers and blockers that don't tap to attack including the Yotian Soldier and Zephyr Falcon. Brass Man also works well with the Stasis.. as you can use your Thran Turbines to untap him during your upkeep.**

If you Stasis works against you, then you have Claws of Gix and Barrin, Master Wizard to rid you of that card. Overall, this is a fun lockdown deck with a twist.

MUST.RUN.ORB.OF.DREAMS.

Also, Vedalken Mastermind is awesome in this kind of deck.

I'd toss in some Dazes as well, to untap lands for Stasis and as a great surprise.
You might wanna try a couple of Ebony Owl Netsukes as an alternate win condition.

Only 2 thwarts? In my stasis deck I run 4, plus another 3 dazes. And spellbook. Spellbook is a deceptively good card in stasis, as you wont be playing alot of what you draw, but you may want to keep some of it. Anvil of Bogardan is a better solution to the discard phase, but I dont happen to have any  no matter how hard I try to find them.. Orb of dreams is a tad bit of an odd choice for this deck in my opinion, when your islands come into play tapped you cant pay for stasis and thereby cant keep the lock going, so whats the point? Mastermind is a very good choice, however, as he lets you keep your untap step. This will let you super-ruin them with vortex. The only problem with the mastermind is shock. That and lightning bolt. And Chain lightning. And basicly any burn or kill spell ever. But thats what the dazes and counters are for right? Looks like it could shape up into a solid deck.

Ps. Whats a Gulf Squid doing making your cut?

You pay for Stasis with Forsaken City anyway, so the Orb is a good call to make sure they donīt play a spell ever.
