Celixia Tournament - To take place on Christmas Break

Join the Celixia Block Constructed tournament to take place over the Holiday/Christmas Break this month. I am currently taking sign-ups in this forum thread. To enter this tournament you will need to email me your decklist with code and post in this thread that you are interested. I will be hosting the tournament although I may play in it as well.

---Each player should be a member of the forum, if possible.

---When the tournament commences it will be your responsibility to set up a time to play against your opponent. If you are having trouble doing this, please let me know immediately. Each game will be best out of three except for the final match which will be best out of 5 (possibly 7).

---The games start on Monday 12/19 unless there is a problem somewhere along the way.

---You must email your decklist and your decklist code to magicdeckvortex@hotmail.com by 12/18. We will be using MWS (Magic Workstation) to do the tournament. Your email containing your deck should be titled like so: [deck title] Entry for the Celixia Tournament [Extended for the people with finals this week.]

---The Tournament will be in a modified Swiss format.

Prizes:

---The winner will get to design a cycle of uncommon or common cards for one of the next two sets in the Celixia Block (Celixia, Powershift, Equilibrium).

---The top three will get a custom title if they don’t have one already.

---There may be other prizes yet to be determined.

Then, right click on the link that says, "Download the text file" then save it.
After that, load up MWS.
Go to View--Library Mode (classic)
Make sure you have a card in the top base highlighted, and click tools--Analyze/Add/Remove sets.
Click Add new Edition
Edition name: Celixia (obviously) Edition Key: CEL
Click Get data from text spoiler.
Click the envelope by path to spoiler, then find the file on your CPU.
You'll need to change a few things in the bottom fields.
Card Color--change to Color
Type and Class--Type
Mana cost--Cost
Card Text--Rules Text
Card #--Number
Pwr/Tou--Pow/Tgh
Then click next.
Change Tourny to: None, and click add addition. It should add it to your master list. BE SURE TO SAVE YOUR BASE AFTER IMPORTING!!!
If not you'll have to do it all over again.

Alright, I've got a problem. I threw together a buncha cards to get a basic idea for a deck, but when I went into solo test in MWS, it said my deck wasn't a 'Valid Deck Type'. Is there something I'm missing?

I would recommend checking the MWS FAQ section.. which you can find on www.magicworkstation.com. Good luck. Let us know when you are able to figure out the problem.

I'm pretty sure what happens is you didn't save the base before trying to run it. You'' have to do it again. Once you import the file, SAVE AND CLOSE BEFORE DOING ANYTHING. Then re-open the program and you should be set.

For any rulequerries that can pop up Streetz will try to get a judge to help, otherwise we will have to handle it ourselves. Anyone want to voulenter? I can help for matches I am not playing, even though I am not a dci certefied judge, I have a fair bit of rules knowledge and would probably pass the test if I took it.

I have finals Monday and Tuesday this week, but I should be home around half-past-noon both days.

PS: This may not be the right place to put it but, I don't have any art for the Celixia cards in MWS, would someone help me out, please?

There is no limit to rares in your deck. Can you email me your deck by the end of SUnday?

When you've got your deck done, go to Game-Solo Game. A box will pop up that lets you see your deck, change your name, etc. You'll see three question marks. Below that is the deck code Streetz is talking about. That is how you confirm that you are using the same deck each time.

Mad Mat - Yes you can still enter. Please email me your deck list. Your deck code is the code provided when you test the deck in solo mode. Please remember to provide a sideboard.

You can also get the code under tool in mws there is something called get deck securety code. The code is used to verify you play the right deck. Streetz a sb can either be 0 or 15 cards.

The Deck Code stays the same no matter what cpu you are on, as long as the exact same cards are used, and inserted in the same order.

There is no set start time. You have to contact your opponent and set up a time that works for both of you. I'm assuming we'll get a rule that says all games must be played in three days, or something like that.

You will have two days to complete your round. If you don't, it will be a draw for each players (no win, no loss)

You are responsible for noting your opponent's deck code for each pairing and both must report to me in a new thread to be started tomorrow. Tomorrow morning (or late tonight) pairings will be up. They will be determined randomly (using EXCEL's random function).

Kristoffer, if you do not have your deck code to me by tomorrow morning, you will not be able to compete in this tournament.

Also note, I would like one person, who believes they will be available, to answer any rules questions throughout the tournament. Otherwise, any rules questions will have to be resolved on your own during each pairing.

3 days since it's announced? I can only get on MWS on weekends, so it might take me up to 5 days. It just doesn't work on my computer (as far as I know), something with the phone connection here.

I would like to compile some kind of report on the tournament, kind of like what is done on MTG.com. Unfortunately, MWS doesn't currently allow spectator mode. For this reason, it would be very nice if you guys could possibly save your MWS chat transcripts, so I could make a report on the games that way.

I can't write about all ~130 games though, so perhaps if you could put a bit of emphasis on certain games you feel were cool, or characteristic of your deck.
