For those that have seen some Celixia cards and wondered where the amaturish lineart came from. Streetz, my younger brother, has been scanning and coloring the illustrations mostly from my younger years, originated for a RPG of my design called Paradoxia.
I think its way cool that he uses my stuff in new and cool ways for his fictional Celexia set, usually with lots of his own coloration and background work thrown in.
Well,
Streetz, don't know if you've converted these to Celixia cards or whatever, but I thought I'd provide a look at the step-by-step process of creating the original Paradoxia art.
In two of the cases, I started with a thumbsketch done by the player for her character concept, and then took it from there. In the third care, it was just from scratch (aka, NPC).
Either way, it starts with a pencil sketch, then an ink on tracing paper, than a scan and color in Photoshop.
I'm not sure what program you use, Streetz, but i know you do alot of your own coloring on the basic b/w illustration, usually with backgrounds and stuff, too. (I'm too lazy)
"Peaches the Conqueror" - Vhad Space Pirate

"USB" - Dax Space Pirate

"Turlok" - Fornaxian Fel Hunter

There you have it. A taste of 2003-ish original Paradoxia art ;)
I've since largely stopped trying to illustrate my own stuff since I have met a crew of people far more serious and talented than myself who can do it for me , but its still fun to pick up the pencil every now and then, only to find months later a new Celixia card has popped up from it!
Keep it up, Streetz.
