So, just create a Christmas-themed card. I'm not very good at judging, so I'm looking for someone else to judge. Just post in this thread if you're interested in either creating (just post your card) or judging. Deadline will be up to the judges. It'll probably be around the 23rd or 24th, though.

I'm sorry, but I read CHRISTMAS Card Creation Contest in the thread title. I'm not saying I'm against the other religions, but when the contest is about CHRISTMAS, Hanukah and Kwanza stay outside.

lol no quite frankly i dont give a damn about any holiday other then christmas however some people do, i was just making a generalized statement.

If no one wants to judge, I'll judge, but I don't do point systems. I prefer to stick to just looking over the cards, and eliminating the ones I don't like. If that's ok with everybody, I'll judge, but it'd be much better if someone else did it.

Or, M_Z and YWN, you could both judge, submit cards, and take the average of your scores. The card you submit will only be judged by the other person.

Okay. Since I'm judging here we go the official due date:

Christmas Eve - 7am EST. I get off work at 7am and I'll post results then. So basically you have until Christmas Eve Eve to get something in.

Do you know what's sad. I honestly thought we were making Christmas Cards here. Not Christmas themed Magic Cards. Well well well. I'll accept Christmas Cards as well, why not! The categories for judging will be as follows:

Main Categories:
1. Orginality (particuarly how well does the card blend Magic and Holidays)
2. Holiday Flavor (Can I taste the Eggnog and Candy Canes?)
3. Playability (Could I actually use this card?)

Bonus Categories:
* Festive Artistry (pretty pictures - I even love poor photoshop)
* Humor

Special Awards will be given to deserving cards, baby.

Artifact
Sacrifice a creature: Put one colored juice counter in Punch Bowl for every color in that creature's mana cost.
Tap Punch Bowl: Remove all counters from Punch Bowl. For each counter removed this way, add one colored mana to your mana pool of the same color as that token.

Me? Love elves? Nah. They're just cheap (free) labor.

For now, this is the best one I've got. It's not festive, but at least its humorous (somewhat). I got swayed by a friend's persuasive speech that Santa was bad because he encourages deception (he's not real), animal abuse (he whips his reindeer), and slavery (doesn't pay the elves).

Well, it's a contest/game. There have been several card creation contests in this forum, in the general forum, and ultimately all over the site. I think it belongs here or card creation so it's not a big deal. If anything more people view games than custom cards so it'd do better here.

Perhaps a thread linking to this one and a little shout out.

I don't care how many cards a person submits, they can submit 20 if they want, but I'll only judge 1. Either the last one they submit or the one they tell me to use.

Guest1234's Punch Bowl -- Winner Most Realistic

A little underpowered. This fits right in with Guildpact's theme, but overall the mana cost to get it out is far to high. It has good stops to prevent infinite loops, but just needs an extra oomph. See City of Shadows for a more simplistic and balanced version.

Zack Wilder's Santa -- Winner Best Santa in Show

I like the theme, love how you use elves to make toys. Don't like the name or the creature type, but it's good overall. Reminds me honestly of a Tribal blend of Savra and Lyzolda.

DBB's Rudolf -- Winner Most Undercosted in Show

It's part Nekrataal, part Draining Whelk, the problem is it' so vastly massive that I'm just not sure it works. When cast during combat it effectively kills 2 creatures, and becomes massive. Suggestion to Fix the card: 0/0 Power and Toughness -- Why Fear?

I dont' know how to express how much I love and loathe this card. I actually love the idea and think it's appropriately powered. I don't like the idea of the mental images the picture is giving me. Dear God, Seniors Gone Wild.


YWN's Santa -- Winner of Most Overpowered Santa

When I think of Blazing Archon, I think, hot damn, why can't it kill things that attack as well. Well now it can. It's a shame, Blazing Archon was overpowered, and this just furthers it. Plus, everyone knows, Santa carries a shotgun, not an assault rifle. Shotguns are much better for dropping woodland animals that worship satan.

CJS's Santa -- Winner Even Moster Overpowered Santa

7/7's for 6 mana are juicy. Add in regeneration, perma counter buffs, vigilance, and a giant stew of bizarre thematic abilities and you have perhaps the most overpowered card in the contest. I'm not sure what CJS was thinking giving Santa pro from Skeptics as everyone know Skeptic take Santa out, I mean I saw Elf, no Santa belief and he can't even fly let alone fit his dumpy butt into a chimney. Get your Xmas facts straight.

Yeah well the main reason, santa was the top DOG there, so he had to be juicy, and he was loved by all so his cost went down, even though that completly ignores and renders the proven theory of economics wrong, love conquers all as they say.... oh and...also i was too lazy to make it look any uglier so i liked the #s the card i borrowed left me xD !
