The flash could have been seen even from the sky as a flickering point of light. On the ground, the mage had been engulfed in a growing ball of light that had grown and grown until suddenly, it had exploded and the light had spread all over the continent. The light was followed by a noise so powerful that it couldn't be heard. Everything it reached would have burst to bits, if it hadn't been singed to ashes by the wave of energy before. The giant tower the mage was standing on, shaken by the magical burst, startet collapsing and sunk straight into the ground. A violent earthquake shook the continent if not the whole plane. Rifts were opening in the earth and Tironia, once whole and a collection of glorious empires started braking apart. The great channel began widening and the armadas of the fighting nations were swallowed by enormous masses of water. The volcano had begun spitting out glowing rocks and rivers of liquid fire but that was nothing against the wave of magical destruction that was about to remove life from the whole continent.

The first spirit rose. It was Iz'. Iz, the mage who had brought an end to Tironia's nations. To its life. To its first age. The spirit rose towards the eternal darkness of space. It rose and had a last look at what it – what he had done. What he had done, had been the last of all choices. The last of all choices that had been made. The last possibility to end the chaos. Then the spirit had a look at its future. The endless and eternal darkness. If they all had only known...
Tironia
Chapter I
The humans brought the counting of time to Tironia. They were the ones to establish the general Tironian calendar. Although there are still races that count time like they ever did, the human model is the most precise for the humans being know for their almost manic precision. Also most holidays were brought or invented by the humans. And most of them are also only celebrated in Alegia and Nortex, the places were humans are the majority among citizens.

She closed her book, leaned back on her chair, drew breath and reopened her eyes. Finally she had done it. She had read the whole book from the beginning to the end. And it was still time to go out. She had thought it would take her days to finish it but when she had gotten down to reading the pages just flew through her fingers one after the other. When she was interested she could read quite fast for her age. But what was most stunning, was that she kept most of what she had read. Other children of her age even struggled to red through a whole book this thick not to mention keeping anything in mindthat had appeared. Not so Feline. At least not this time. She turned the book to reread its title. “Elvish history, traditions and siciety – Book 2 of 7 of the series 'Understanding different races' “ by Elaine Porven.
“Two down, five more to go,“ Feline thought while she was already considering the similarities between the author's name and her own. She had concentrated for a long time. Now it was time for some fun. She got up from her bed, grabbed her warm winter coat and ran out of her room. Not even her mother's call 'Where are you going' could have stopped her from running out to meet her friends playing in the year's first snow. Her mother, a young looking and beautiful woman followed her to the door and shouted a time for her daughter to be home again for dinner out in the cold and then returned to the kitchen where she was preparing the meal.
The children were running around, shouting, laughing and throwing around snow balls. Although Feline also liked reading or helping her mother preparing the meals but she appreciated being out much more. It didn't even matter that it was so cold. Feline didn't specifically like the cold time of the year or the snow. She was happier with the warm days but for the moment all this didn't matter. What mattered was that she was out under the open sky where she could breathe fresh air and look to the far horizon.
Her father had always said to her that she was a child of nature. Someone for whom the freedom of the wide plains of Alegia were a perfect place to live. Her father had known this feeling and he even had missed it while living here. He had been an even wilder one than Feline and thus he had left them - Feline and her mother – one day to return to the wilderness he had once come from. They had never heard from him again but Feline's mother always said that she just knew he was doing well.
A big ball of snow hit Feline directly in the face. She had been lost in though just a moment too long. A boy had taken the opportunity and had thrown a head-sized snow ball at her. She stared angry at the boy, and while he started running she aimed and threw the snow ball she still had held in her hand. It hit the boy's head and he fell to the ground.
“That's your own fault, Ken. No get up and fight like a real man, not throwing at someone who is in his thoughts.“ Kenjozu crawled through the snow to a great rock and hid behind it. While Feline approached him, a snow ball in each hand, he tried to form as many as possible in the few seconds he had. The moment Feline sprang around the rock a battle began that soon looked like a small snow twister which had picked up two kids. The fight ended in front of Feline's home with her atop Ken, pinning hin to the ground.
“Ha! Won again. I thought you wanted to train to beat me, buddy?“ She rolled to the side and saw her mother standing in the door next to them with an angry look on her face. “Umm, I'm sorry mom, but it's all his fault.“
“Yes, for sure it is,“ said her mother, knowing exactly that it wasn't. She pulled them up from the ground and pushed them into the house. “Dinner is almost ready. Get out of your wet clothes and get some fresh ones. You've got two minutes.“ While Feline and her brother Kenjozu ran off to her rooms, she returned to slicing bread with a smile on her face.
