Hi there, welcome to 3-Cards Blind Round#9

After ANOTHER devastating showdown of our two kids that seemingly want to take over the world (Wild assumption, I admit) we are ready to launch another of those rounds.

Drawing the games still isn't important enough to win the tourney all by itself, it seems, but discard seriously is. Encroach will be getting a serious look from now on, I am pretty much sure, which might stirr the metagame a little. Yet where to put a card that is a wreckingball when playing first, but useless when going second? Maybe someone ELSE is going to figure THAT out...

Disruption was king last time around, so I expect decks that can pack a bit more of a punch and still go on, like that nasty Lions Eye Dimand-Nether Spirit thing we had a couple of rounds ago. Now there is a bugger that's hard to get rid of. Sad that those are already banned, but I think there should be some more of the kind around.

From now on, I am giving out a little deadline to sumit decks. Ten days from now, all decklists should be submitted via PM-function (to me, that is ;) If you don't know how to PM, just click my name (Yezzandrix) and chose "send a private mail". Just saying. HAH! NOW YOU HAVE NO MORE EXCUSES, SO GO AHEAD AND SEND ME THAT LIST!!!!). You got that? 10 Days. After which I will be posting the decklists as soon as humanly possible. If you missed the deadline, don't worry, since you can just join next time, I hope to be able to maintain a stable bi-weekly rythm.

If you have only ONE decklist ready at the moment, don't worry, since next time, it will be the 10th time for 3CB. And therefore, next time will be a little special. But I am not giving you clues yet, only that you are VERY unlikely to have a deck ready, yet, unless someone somewhere did something like that already... ;)

@P_P: 2 Lion's Eye Diamond + Haakon, Stromgald Scourge. It's pretty much invulnerable to removal (unless it removes Haakon from the game). No matter which card is discarded, Haakon still comes out. If any one thing is destroyed (and I doubt more than one will be, since the other decks have to have a win condition), it still works, and you get a 3/3 :p

Cool idea. Unfortunately you have to think up a method of casting him each time...? :confused:

• Haakon can't be played from your hand. It can't be played from any zone other than your graveyard, even if an effect such as that of Spelljack or Muse Vessel would otherwise allow you to.

• While Haakon is in your graveyard, you may play it. This follows the normal rules and timing for playing a creature spell; the only difference is what zone Haakon is being played from. The spell goes on the stack. You have to pay Haakon's mana cost and any applicable additional costs. The same applies for Knight cards you play from your graveyard while Haakon is in play.

@P_P, I know, you play both LED's, sac one which makes you discard your hand (Haakon) for 3 black mana, and use it to play him from your grave. If he's countered, use the other LED. If he's discarded, no worries. If one LED is countered or discarded, use the other :p and if Haakon's killed, use the second LED. Unless I'm missing something here...

There is a draw step, but dredge also requires you to put a certain number of cards from your library into your graveyard, and that might be hard to do.

Mogg, I think you draw two times against P_P, since you cannot hope to play seas claim on his land until he is actually playing it. And he will not play it unless you play that Roc Hatchling. And if you do, he will not live to see a counter removed from him. Either way, you will draw. Either you are stripped from winning condition, or you will not even play it. Same goes for P_P.

@CJS: Yeah, I just checked my inbox, and it seems that you haven't sent me a decklist... This means that I am sad to inform you that you didn't submit a deck on time. I apologize for not reminding you to send it to me

Also, I realized that I actually have two wins against boiwithteeth, because [card]Kird Ape[\card] is only a 1/1 after I enchant his [card]Taiga[\card].

Since people repeatedly wished to use cards that are ridiculous, I will just give in.

And force all the others to play along, in fact ;)

Next round, both Unhinged and Unglued cards will be legal (yes, even their basic lands, those that aren't already banned, that is). And since most people would just choose to crush the others with their finely-tuned deep-tech, (maybe even net-decked) regular-run-of-the-mill-decks, I will NOT accept ANY decklist without at LEAST one card from either of both editions (And for all those smart-thinkers out there (you know at whom my finger points ;) ) BASIC LANDS DO NOT COUNT THERE!!!)

@Mogg and P_P: About tearing cards apart: Easy. Even THIS is covered in the rules, in a way...

It says that each game is played just like a regular game of Magic, and also that you are to bring a deck that consists of 3 cards to the table. You tear one apart, you have only a 2-cards-deck, so that you are no longer legal... Wins you one game, that'S it.

Beware of dexterety-cards, remember that it always goes into your opponents favour
