This is a segment in many in which I'm going to explain about the Ur-Golems from Mirrodin and as best as I can, in my own fictional world, on how they were pushed to extinction and why Bosh lived etc. I hope it's alright...it seems like a good idea in my head but i'm not sure if it has been done before or wha-ev.

If this is any bit confusing, the Prelude is a foreshadowing of Bosh's future. Of course, more things happen afterwards and before, but it's a slice of story pie for you to look forward to.

Part 1 - Bosh
Prelude
~Bosh ran for his life. Thousands of nim were swarming all around him and there was nowhere for him to go. "Khera! Denvi!" he yelled, but to no avail. He waited a moment for a response.
~Nothing. Not even a cry for help.
~He reached a dead end; a wall in the Dross. He turned around and saw that the nim had stopped in their tracks. He peered above him and a vampire-like creature dropped upon him. The thing clawed its fingers into Bosh's skull and started to drain him of his lifeforce. There was nothing for him to call upon. All of the towers had been relieved of their power so he could not draw from them for anything.
~Bosh saw the world around him fading...then the vampire stopped. Geth appeared, standing on multiple nim, and turned at Bosh.
~"Ur-Golem of Mirrodin. You are sentenced to an eternal slumber by the grand being. Submit yourself to Memnarch."
~Bosh didn't even have time to answer to Geth because every nim around him swarmed him and pulled him into the Dross. Bosh's last vision was one of a girl...an elf girl with a goblin...
~"What?" Bosh asked, puzzled, as he was dragged down into the abyss.

Chapter 1 - Camp
~Bosh awoke with the sound of thunder clattering all around his den. Thunder had been appearing much more frequently ever since that ball of fire appeared in the sky. Bosh counted them one day. Two...three...Three suns. But he spotted another one arising from Taj-Nar. A fourth sun? Since that time the sky had been a weird color, and the Tower Of Murmurs had been shimmering with a feint light.
~Bosh sat up from his resting place and walked outside. A bolt of thunder struck his frame, but glistened off his chest. "Damn thunder." Bosh said. He walked around his encampment and saw that many of his fellow golems has vanished.
~"Ghera, what happened to Kellan?" Bosh asked, with a puzzled look on his face. Another golem looked up at him and sighed. "The being from the core took him." Bosh cursed. That was the fifth friend this week that had been taken by the force inside of the plane.
~"Well...Khera...I'm going to the tower to gain some more insight on this thing...care to join me?"
~The other golem stood up. She towered over 10 feet tall and was shaded with a purple hue unlike the other golems among them. "Certainly Bosh."

Chapter 2 - Tower of Eons
~"It's still glowing" Bosh murmured. Khera looked up at the tower and saw the same.
~"Is it going to fade soon...like the others have?"
~Bosh thought for a moment. Over the past few years, each of the towers have started to glow dimmer and dimmer. It all happened since that fourth ball of light appeared. "Someone must be controlling it..." Bosh thought to himself.
~"What was that?" Khera asked.
~Bosh turned to her, "Nothing" he added.

~After looking at the tower for a bit, Bosh started to inscribe something on the side of it. "What are you doing now?!" Khera asked him.
~"Do you remember that figure...the one from hundreds of years ago? The ones that our birthers told us as we expanded? The one that created this land and every nonliving thing on it?"
~Khera thought for a moment, "Yes. The one of near infinite power?"
~Bosh nodded, "Precisely. I want its legacy to be remembered...so that someone in the future will be able to read this and realize that being's power. Very unlike the one controlling the tower."
~"But why...why would anyone be interested at all, Bosh?"
~"Because Khera, it's history. History of our plane. Our ancestors. Our creator. Other beings need to know. It's important that--"
~Bosh was cut short as he felt that he was being watched.
~"Important that...what Bosh? ..Bosh?"
~Khera looked at where Bosh's head was fixated at and saw something glimmer, then fade away into the earth.
~"What was that thing Bosh?"
~"I...I don't know. But it was watching us. It looked it was gathering information on us."
~"Who would want information on us?"
~"I don't know Khera, but the thought of someone syping on us creeps me out. Come, let's return home."

Chapter 3 - The Intruder
~The moment Bosh and Khera returned to camp, everyone around them neglected their words and their actions. No one paid attention to them, and even their own birthers did not listen to their words.
~"Bosh...why is everyone ignoring us?"
~"I don--"
~"AH-HA! YOU TWO! You're both in a whole mess of trouble now! Look what you've done!"
~Bosh was puzzled, "What? Denvi, we've been gone this whole time--"
~"LIAR! I saw you two messing around with the last good tower, and for what? For naught is what!"
~"For..naught? Who told you that!?"
~"Well...it was this little guy here! Tell them little man."
~Bosh looked down next to Denvi and saw the same thing that was spying on him. It looked like a humanoid figure, but made of all metal. Its head was shaped like a bird's beak and its eyes were long and glowing. The only major difference is that it had four fingers and it moves around on all fours.
~"*bzzt* Draining...lifeforce tower...golems...drain of power...both golem...*bzzt*"
~Bosh started to get angry, "Denvi, we were inscribing something on the tower. Nothing harmful!"
~"I don't care! This thing is trustworthy, He even told me!"
~"He? Who is He"
~"Mem...I mean, a memory. A memory told me. Something from long ago."
~Bosh never trusted Denvi. He was taller than most of the Ur-Golems, and always outsmarted everyone.
~"I know you're lying Denvi, but no one else around us seems to care but I, so I won't push it."
~"Good! All I did was give him a chance to observe you and nothing went wrong!"
~"Observe--" But Bosh was once again cut short by an explosion nearby, followed by a high-pitched yelp.
~"What was that!?" Khera yelled.
~Everyone turned to the direction where the sound came from and saw a monstrous thing plowing towards them. Where a golem once stood, there was shredded metal and steel, all perfectly cut by the blades on this beast.
~"It plowed through a home...right through it..." Khera said.
~Bosh turned to Denvi, "Who is this person? He just killed one of our people."
~Denvi was shuddering, "He...he lives in the core...he watches everything...that's all I know, I swear!"
~Bosh released Denvi and started to move away from the metal monster. Everyone did the same, but they all failed to notice the little spy disappear into the ground, clicking its fingers in joy.

Chapter 4 - Separation
~Bosh watched as another golem was senselessly torn asunder by the mechanical beast, and all Bosh could do was look on. He moved as fast as his feet granted him, but it wasn't enough, and soon the thing would tear him apart.
~Soon he was at the base of the Mephidross, the swamp of Mirrodin. He stopped and thought briefly about entering, but the sound behind him gave him the decision he needed. He did not see anyone else around him, and thought he was the last one. When he thought things couldn't get any worse, nim started to appear. And not just a few nim, hundreds of them. All chasing Bosh. He enabled himself to move faster.

Chapter 5 - The Dream
~Bosh's vision was hazy, but enough for him to envision other creatures. I must be dreaming... he thought. He urged himself to wake up, but the stench of the Dross was enough of a horror, let alone move about it again.
~Bosh just let his visions take him where he needed to go.

~Bosh saw a girl. An elf girl...a good hunter at best. The picture shifted to the mountains and Bosh saw a goblin. A very smart goblin. Bosh saw the Dross again...and Geth. Geth had vials of some sort and he was using them on himself. The dream went black, then Bosh saw blinkmoths. Thousands of tiny blinkmoths drifting in the wind. Bosh wanted to smile, but a hand reached out of the sky and grabbed many of them. They cried out and started to turn into various species. Bosh could not tell what they were, but there were cats and elephants, goblins and elves, humans...and odd blue-hued creeatures with four arms.
~The hand retracted to a sphere. Above the sphere was a head covered with massive...globes of some sort. The figure laughed, and peered into some kind of mirror. Bosh saw one of the creatures from before scuttle up to the figure and kneel by its side. The dream ended with one word, "Memnarch."

~Bosh opened his eyes, thousands of nim stood around him and Geth still watched on.
~"What?! How are you alive golem?" Geth yelled.
~Bosh stood up, angry at Geth and his vampire. He grabbed the tbeast by its neck and ripped its head off of its body along with its spinal column.
~Geth shrieked. "Attack!"
~All of the nim charged Bosh and he easily repelled them with his fists. Sinew and goo flew about as Geth's army was wrecked by this one golem.
~Geth smiled.
~"Too bad golem. You fell into my trap."
~Bosh widened his eyes and looked around him.
~What is he talking about? he asked himself.
~The ground below him rumbled, and behind him a massive reaper-like creature appeared from the muck. This thing carried a colossal scythe used for piercing enemies. Bosh wondered what else it did, and saw his answer as the monster grabbed various nim and threw them into his...back?
~Its back opens up? Bosh thought.
~"Say hello to my harvester, golem. It will be killing you today. Ha ha!" Geth laughed to himself and disappeared into his vault.
~Bosh looked at the thing, "Oh god. This...may be difficult."

Sweeeeeeeeet, love the idea ^^ how many golems are there, though? I was under the impression there was only a few.

From the impression I was under, there were many of them until Memnarch turned into a maniac and pushed them all to the brink of extinction. The only hard part is describing a golem to the fullest extent. I.E., without making them sound like big humans.
