What did you play? what did the Meta look like? What surprised you?

I did sooooo bad. So did everyone else that played my deck. My friend who i carpooled with went 1-3 Drop, i went 1-4 Drop, and this guy who i hate who played the same deckwent 2-4 Drop. I assume anyone that was playing this deck did really bad.

I was playing Ideal. The Whole field was RW Weenie and Rock and 3-color aggro-control things.

But on a better note, 3 of my friends top 8ed (Matt Saypoff, Ashok Chitturi [the guy owning me in my avatar], and Mitch Okun), but i left before i could see how well they did. Also, 2 of my friends top16ed, getting 10th and 11th (so close), and the 11th guy wudda got Top8 if he won his last round, but the 10th place guy won his last round just to make top 16 :? .

Don't make the same mistake I did. Don't play Ideal.

I am definately switching to one of the 3-color aggro decks that look pretty cool. Probably the one that Mitch was playing.

All i saw was kokusho after kokusho. Putrefy, Yukora, and Ink Eyes. Grave Shell Scarab is a must, bops, last gasps, STE, Kreach, and obviously overgrown tomb.

Hehe, did you guys hear about texas? A BoW deck won the state! lol

I've been messing around with a U/W/g control deck.. doing decent... but from the sound of states that went for everyone, the expected decks to win the meta lost to random unknown rogue decks :|

Well, my friend that top8ed (5-8th) played a UWg Control deck... i think the green splash was only for Vhitu Ghazi and Recollect, though. I might play it cuz i was always a fan of control decks. I'll have to see his decklist when it gets posted on the WotC site.

I'm testing around the deck and started putting more and more green in... I loose out on some draw, but what you get is a little accel (turn3 wrath anyone? :D), a bit more stability from recollect, and a mean way of beating people.

But sometime it just plays fine... sometimes it just crumbles... I'm still testing it.

I got 48th out of 127 in Indiana :cry: went 3-3-1
I brought GB rock built against aggro heavy field but alas there was barely any aggro there. I had two mirror matches, won one tied one, beat crappy gifts deck, beat heartbeat 2-1, lost to RW control, BU mill(got crazy draws) and RW aggro(burn killed me not the creatures :| ).
O well most of the guys from my area placed in the top fifty with two in the top 8.
All of my matches but two went the whole fifty minutes and had three overtimes. :x The BoW deck was freaking awesome to watch btw.

Looking back I should have brought UBGWr Gifts(in competitive forum)or one of the following Eye of the Storm deck MUC Fungus Fire and bring the jank against all of the freakin control that was there. It was insane how many control decks were there.
Can't wait till next year.
