Fav' Ravnica Guild?

It would happen sometime, so it might as well happen now, right? :P

Anyway, back on topic, what's your fav' guild so far? Well, for me, after looking at some stuff, and debating what to buy (Haven't bought any cards yet, I know, I'm slow. >.<) I decided I'm gonna try Golgari.

The Selesnya is too... Tokeny and Big Creatury and not too interesting in my opinion. (They do have some cool cards thouigh) The Dimir, well, I don't like mill, and black/blue has never been my forte. Boros are bit too much like a white weenie, I guess. I played white weenie, and while it was effective, it wasn't that fun for me, anyway...

Golgari are just right. It isn't a new concept, using the graveyard, but the way Golgari do it is cool. Dredge is a pretty cool ability, and "Golgari" sounds cool. ^.^

I've checked alot of Golgari cards, and I really like 'em so far. So right now, I'm a Golgari Guy, and I plan to buy the Theme Deck nad then get some packs.

I might change of course, after play-testing, but so far I'm leaning towards Golgari.

So what 'bout you guys?

I think you're really overlooking Convoke.
Being able to Convoke out that devouring light to destroy thier creature is rather fun.

I haven't bought anything new yet either. I've been busy/broke for the past two weeks.

I like the selsynia guild. I played in a Ravnica sealed deck and won the tourney pretty much because of the convoke spells and creatures. I drafted green whire and everran everyone with the Guildmage. Being able to make tokens then pump everything up when you want to finish them off is a really cool ability in my book. I really like the set and I am looking forward to the nex two after this to see what they plan on doing next , the six other guilds should be pretty cool. I primarily play type 1 but I am a huge fan of Ravnica, it is WAY better than that kamigawa crap they came out with last year, big flop in my opinion. I say buy lots of Ravnica and play around with the guilds, it is fun to combine the strong points of each of them and make unique decks, I am tinkering with actually combining the Selsynia and the Boros guild for a fun creature control deck. I will keep updated on the progress.

Sweet, man! I alwasy thought multi-guild woudl be kewl. Now imagine a Selesnya-Golgari Deck. O.O

Or a Golgari-Dimir, although that wouldn't work as well...

Right now the deck has weeknesses to creature kill, I get my siege wurms out and they get rend fleshed or putrified before they can do any damage and the guild colors lack and real creature kill other than Devouring light, thats why I wanna add that third color so I can have more answers. Lightning Helix would definately be a nice addition.

Since Creature Kill spells are a bit few and far-between in Ravnica, they become much more valuable... Hmmm... Interesting. It's possibly that some multi-guild combos could have a bit too much removal than what's good for the set, as I don't see much countering in Ravnica.

Well, we'll see if it develops any further.

I like flooding the filed with tokens and big stompy creatures, so Selesnya is my second favourite.

However, in the end, my love for super-fast damage won, and Boros is my current favourite :D.

Probably Selesnya... the convoke idea is just fun, all your creatures basically have "tap: add :1mana: to your mana pool" good stuff :D

Well, I've looked over the Boros, and they were alot more interesting than I first imagined. I think I might end up getting a Boros deck, although Golgari still sounds fun.

Prob'ly get Boros first, though.

i find dredge decks a lot more interesting than i first thought they would, but my favorite guild would have to be dimir. circu all the way! i'm getting one for a jitte

Bah, Boros all the way :D. Nothing like having Agrus lead your army, then casting bathe in light so your opponent cant block or even cast spells on your insane-damage-dealing army :D.

Boros Swiftblade on turn two and sunforger on turn 3 certainly doesn't hurt either :D.

Apparently, GRUNT has bought the Boros deck and has no idea of the other guild's potential.

I like every guild in Rav, and looking forward to Cult of Rakdos/Simic Combine, but here is my preferred guild order(By flavor. not cards.)

Bah! I know full well of the other guild's potential! Especially since I fight against them all the time, and I myself built some decks with all the other guilds during my playtesting period.

I just like the Boros playing style the best :D.

I have changed all my stuff again, I'm back to Golgari. In my environment, there are few Golgari decks, so I like to be unique!

And they're still cool! I might later build a Boros deck though.. Once I get money. O.o

definately selensia. gives you an extra edge of surprise when you're tapped out for mana and you can get some with a handfull of saporling cratures to play just about any card. also makes it easier to pull out bigger creatures when your opponent isn't expecting it.
