3-Card Blind (3CB) is a very unique game. The rules are as follows
Your deck is composed of 3 cards, all of which start in your hand.
You have no library (technically, the library exists, but starts at 0 cards) and no sideboard (Wishes fetch nothing).
Random effects always go in your opponent's favour.
You can see your opponent's hand, so you can always make the best possible play.
You don't lose as a result of not being able to draw a card.
You will play each opponent twice, once going first, once going second.
For each win, you score 3.
For each draw, you score 1.
For each loss, you get nothing.
Other than the aforementioned, EVERYTHING IS HANDLED EXACTLY LIKE A REAL GAME OF MAGIC!

Remember, it is important for your deck to include a way to cast your cards! (Lands, artifact mana, pitch cards, etc.)

The "Vanishing" part is the twist. To start off with, only Unglued, Unhinged and Ante cards are banned. After each round, the 3 cards in the winning deck plus any cards in more than 1/3 of the decks played will be banned for all future rounds.[/b][/quote]

Hi again, all you 3CB-Lovers! A new game is beginning, and I hope that this time, we get above 6 contestants, and I hope that everybody who was in it last time, is playing it again, now. Due to the forum-upgrades it might take some time longer for everybody to find theri way here, so I will be waiting longer to close the Arena and let you fight! That's right, I am not in this again. My one deck is now Banned, but since I wouldn't have won last time it doesnt't really matter, anyway. If someday somebody wants to take over the 3CardsBlind, I might have a chance to play the other deck I have, but that one isn't as cool, so I don't REALLY care.

One last addition (rather: a hint :icon_wink: ) If you look cosely at the list of the banned cards, you might notice that there is not a single mana source on it that enters play TAPPED. That means, no one so far has ever won that thing with a deck that does nothing round one. Just saying style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif

Yeah, the Ghost Quarters. Had that in my deck, but now that that's banned...

Last time I already posted that there will be no extra points for new Dissension-cards. This time, the same will be true. No extra, just winning and losing will be counting style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif Well, losing will not count, now that I think about it.

I have a question: Why are plains banned?

Oh, and there is one mana source that enters play tapped on the banned list: Ancient Spring

Oops, you got me, I didn't see the ancient spring. But that deck was an exeption to the rule, anyway. But keen eye, I oversaw that one.

Plains are banned becasue they are PLAIN powerfull and ridiculous.

Weak-pun-count: I have fullfilled my daily duty.

Now, there was a deck that was Plains, Swords to Plawshares and Mishra's factory. Since every card that was in a winning-deck gets banned, it got banned. I hope that the other basics get banned, too, so that people and decks get more limited, but up to now, the remaining nonbasics are still stronger than basics, so that will take some time...

I would notify P_P, but since he hasn't re-registered yet, I am unable to do so. I guess that I will ask one of my Deckmechs-buddies to contact him, instead...

Well, I don't care too much when we start, but how about something like we start at the end of the week that we get all the decklists from the people already signed up? I'm on vacation for a couple weeks and don't have a Magic Workstation, so I'd like to get home before I have to send in my decklist for Round 8. You never actually play your opponent. Yezzandrix or someone else will simply play the game in their mind.

The person playing the game out in their mind will use whatever the best option is for the person's deck. If you lose a game, but can prove that you can use certain options and win no matter what your opponent does, then the score can be corrected.

I believe that official scoring for 3 card blind is as follows -

Each deck plays each other deck. There are two rounds so that each deck has the opportunity to play first. Each deck gets 3pts for a win, and 1 pt for a draw. There are no points received for loosing.

At the end, the deck with the most points wins the round, and the cards in that deck are banned.

I'll play, if you'd like. I'll have to check the banned list, but I can play.

against hiakashi: first turn drop my nim abomination a 3/4. Then he goes and drops his mage which is a 2/2. In a damage race, I would win, and if he blocked, then I would also win.

against P_P: I drop my abomination, then he goes and drops his fiend, which doesn't remove anything. He doesn't have 4 power to stop the abomination...

AS far as I calculated the results, Hia and P_P are both at 21, with Mogg beeing at 18. Close one, I would say. Somebody please re-calculate the results. If this result is confirmed, I will start a new round soon.

Btw... I just noticed that we didn't have ANY draws this time around... Very interesting, and since now, we have quite a number of decks that actually DO something turn one, drawing a game becomes all that more significant.

Just thinking loud, here... But if you where able to win your game one, and draw game two... You would have won that one (since then, you would have gotten 20 points, while both P_P and Hia would have gotten 2 points less, most probably, for drawing one game against you)... Not sure if you COULD win all your game-one's... But Hia and P_P managed to...

I never forgot you Joachim! After I went to Rome and the contest was over (it's still not done :(), I got super busy with final exams and school work, and didn't have time for MDV for a while. In the shuffle, I stopped working with you, and I really didn't mean to be that way :( Real life happens sometimes.

Real life DOES happen to me, too, once in a while, but that is usually not all that great stuff, so I keep it at a minimum :rolleyes:

Joking aside: I know what you mean, I have a life (that's quite complicated, in my eyes at least) and be informed that I was not mad at all, I was just confused. If you ever finish that contest, I would be happy. But if you don't, well, it's not like the the world is at stake, here.
