View Full Version : What first brought you to MDV?

I'm not really sure where to put this, since there is no MDV general section, and this isn't really news or an announcement, so if I need to move this let me know.

I'm wondering what initially drew you to Magic Deck Vortex. For me, I was just starting to design my fictional set called 'Aftermath', and had just downloaded MTG editor. On the site, Oliver Weikopf has links to other sets made with his program. One of those links is Celixia. I breifly took a look at it, thought it was pretty cool, but didn't really think about it. About 3 or 4 months later I was looking for Brian Davis's Necro-Disk deck from PT Chicago in '99 (my favorite pro tour of all time, and I've seen a bunch). After Googling it, I got a hit from MDV. I got my deck, then saw a blurb on the main site about a flavor text contest for this thing called Celixia and thought to myself, that sounds familiar for some reason. I joined the contest...and as they say, the rest is history.

So how about you. Why are you here?

j/k, I was first getting into magic and checking out the diff sites and I thought this one was one of the best. It seemed... more personal. I love the ddb and the vis spoilers, and with the addition of these forums, it is now my favorite site and my homepage!

I am an avid card designer, so i was searching the web for card creation sites and came upon MDV. Haven't left since. ;-)

I came because I found MDV on Google, then I just put in my shortcuts and went top it every so often. Whe you guys got these forums, I went over to check it out, it looked cool, so I joined!

This will be popular. I prefer MDV's over the gatherer because sometimes I recognize pictures better than names of cards.

I had a bet going that nobody seriously made decks with Mageta the Lion, and I found one here, and was really pissed. Then we playtested it, and it sucked horribly, and I got off on a technicality. So I joined here thinking I was going to beat up whatever idiot posted it, but by the time I got around to actually joining the forum I totally forgot.

It was during art class, we were supposed to look up pictures to draw. So me and my friend searched up some magic cards. I found this site but didn't really pay that much attention. Sometimes when I got home, I went back to the site and looked around. And then I decided to join the forums. (My friend chose Sword of Kaldra and I ended up with a morning star. :P

I was search the web for MTG card dealers, when Yahoo gave me a hit for MDV. I checked it out, but quickly followed a link to ABU traders.

Later, I was trying to find some ideas for a new casual play deck. Remember MDV, came and checked it out (Again), fell in love and became a member.
