Stupid Trades

*sigh* This is basically a thread for venting :(

I made a bad trade today, and I feel like such a fool for letting myself do it. I was checking out a new play group and felt intimidated by all the Force of Wills and dual lands and everything flying around and now I feel like an idiot...I just can't get it out of my mind!

When I first started playing I had bought a couple of mirrodin packs and pulled a chrome mox and a foil chrome mox and traded then for some crap rares that I don't even remember.


Don't know why I couldn't tell that the card was good. :hmm:

Wasn't such a laugh when the Defense of the Heart pulled a Plated Slagwurm and a 13/13 Ancient Ooze.

EDIT: Actually it WAS a laught since he couldn't touch my Golgari deck's defenses (gogo Stinkweed Imp) and he was afraid of swinging at anyone else for some unknown reason. Wait, it was becasue I was gonna beat the crap out of him if he even tried to leave himself open. Lol go Gleancrawler + Taunting Elf + a lot of other big stuff.

the dumbest trade i can think of ever making was trading my sisay for a shifting sliver... that was from back when i was realy bad at making trades and realy wanted a sliver deck

I've only run out once, and that was a modular vs. modular where my opponent forgot his beads. That was also the game I had a 15/15 Arcbound Stinger :D

But getting back on topic...
I once traded a kid Charizard, Blastoise, and Alakazam (yes, the Pokemon) for 2 Ivory Mask, Squee, and 3 Rhox. :roll: A total of about $60.00 for the pokemon, and I got about $30.00 in return

I traded about 12 rares for a stack of commons and uncommons the other day, figuring they were all rares (like Bringer of the White Dawn) I didn't need because I don't plan on playing catchup with Mirrodin.
Fast forward to Thursday. I'm beating myself in the face...yes, I rounded out my collection, but I just got 4x Mindslavers and 2x Plat Angels. D'oh.

I traded my 2 leonin shikari and an auriok steelshaper against troll ascetic, 2x bad moon 4th and a risky move. The trade ain't that bad, but risky move is such a ******** card, I can't imagine I actually wanted that :|

my worst trade has to be when i traded away a cranial extraction for arcanis the omnipotent, just because i thought arcanis was a cool card to have. i looked up comparative value later in the week, and felt like strangling that kid i traded with.

my second worst ever was with the same kid, i traded away a dimir cutpurse for a savra.

i should learn from my mistakes and just ask someone who keeps up on card value if i'm getting ripped off or not.

i traded a twincast, pithing needle, and caranial extraction for 3 sensei's divining top and a gifts ungiven and thought :woohoo: . but fact was i should of kept the T.C., P.N. and C.E. cause the very next week i needed the twincast and caranial extraction for a deck i was building. :hmm: still have yet to find any to trade for :cry:.
