Everyone knows Regionals are coming in a few weeks and Dissension becomes legal on this day! Post which one that you are going to and your deck ideas and what you have been testing that works. :D

Here is a B/R that I concocted with Hellbent:

First, this thread involves decks to be played at tournaments...so moved to tourney decks.
Second:
Confidant really goes against what your deck is trying to do. You are trying to get your hand on the table ASAP, but confidant gets you 2 cards a turn.

If you want some handy throw-your-cards-away conditins other than merely dropping into the Graveyard, Muse Vessel (store the card, play the spell later) and Skullmead Cauldron (lifegain for discard) should be considered.

You will have to worry about other people's Walking Archives too, they'll hurt Hellbent (and help all others).

Stonewolf: Nice ideas, but really they are too expensive for their ability. Hellbend needs lots of cheap spells for it to work out. However from the look of the deck, this isn't a hellbend deck since there is only one creature with hellbend.

As for the deck, you really need more removal/disruptions, just throwing in beefs doesn't really help. Perhaps add in more of the seals? Ie: Seal of doom and seal of fire. Not too much other ideas left...

youwant a discard, just use one with nothing. looks like it could have a use in that deck for sure. Ha Ha....

I notice that you also included Dread Slag in your list. I would say those two cards really do not agree with one another in this particular deck since the second you have two cards in your hand, the slag is a mere 1/1. It gets especially unpleasant if you get a run of land on your library, pretty much killing a very potent win condition. I have played with the Slag in hopes of making it into a Reginals quality card but I had better luck elsewhere so I dropped this particular idea.

If you're set on using both the [card]Dark Confidant{/card] and the Dread Slag together, I would like to suggest using the Sensei's Divining Top. It works well with keeping the Confidant damage to a minimum, and can help you get/keep hellbent a bit better by moderating what you draw.

I'm not sure of anything else in standard that can help with card consistency in a RedBlack deck better than the top but card quality will definitely help it out.
