Let's see if this isn't too unoriginal on my part...

Yes, though I haven't bought much from Kamigawa Block I did take a fancy to the concept of kami and decided to produce what can be considered an anatomical destilate of dinosaurs. I simply had to get that out of my system.

I do note that the darkened/contrasted and framed look may not be all that appealing, and I do admit I exaggerated a bit this time, but I kinda like sketches this way.
That hair curling at the top is a result of hastiness in editing: when the cookie crumbled it had to stay because I had to go to class.
Generally, this is a rather old scan of a work in progress as I've continued by correcting that wonky left (hind)leg, applying generous texture, scales, dinofuzz, feathers, correcting the thagomizer and I say the terrible claw has to go: too clichée for my own good.

Thoughts, oppinions, critiques are very welcome.

PS: If lack of an offsite server is the cause for this subforum being slow use http://www.maj.com/ It's free and quite easy to use once you get the hang of it.

I bet that would look even cooler if colored.

First the work in progress:

I've got to make it a habit to layer different pencil hardnesses as it gives quite good results, despite the darkening I inflicted the drawing.

Stolin, are you yanking my chain? 'Cause after you've said it, I've considered it a foray not unworthy of doing. At least it's something I can aim for even if there's only a meager chance of "getting in", so to say, and a slightly bigger of them saying me to keep trying at it.

To that effect, I'll be giving it a few dabs of color. I'll even put in a background (which I in fact have sketched earlier) so don't hold your breath cause I have college and all that

no man, I am serious it looks better now. And I am a pretty optimistic person usually :D . + I love fantasy art. When this is finished, I think you should send it to Wizards, whats the worst they can do? 8)

Now color it when you're done so I can ask for it to be made into an avatar ;).

Thank you all :D
Sorry for the late reply but I've been utterly busy with school and other netverse activities and I like to have a bit of downtime to do absolutely nothing, i. e., lazying about :-/

Twinkee: That'll be pretty much a long wait, 'cause I have other stuff in the works and those are a bit more prehement than fooling around with concepts.
Wait... They actually are fooling around with concepts... Oh, well...
But you do have my authorization when the time comes. Just give proper credit when someones asks you where you got the avatar. I rather need the publicity

Lionden 56: Because I generally suck at humans, though I can think of someone who would be gladly surprised if I did a pirate (not anyone here mind you). I'll give it a try but as I've said above not right now.

I really like the Kami, but to me it looks more like a Dragon ;)
I would love to see a finished version, so finish it now! Or we'll kill you!
(Well, not really - but It is cool so I you should at least put it up when you finish it (and if you do that))

A Kami wouldn't be a Kami if it didn't have floaty things around it! :P
