They'd better reprint [card:fd7e04ce21]Yawgmoth's Will[/card:fd7e04ce21]!

And the way the translation makes it out, we have a pseudo keyword on our hands for the Rakdos Cult. YAY. i always loved stuff like Sweep and Channel because they were easier ways to say things. the freakin Rakdos are gonna OwN the players of this game. XD

Meh, I don't like that mechanic. I'm assuming all it does is boost stuff when your hand is empty. That's a great idea, play out your whole hand so it can be Wrathed away and have nothing left :P since drawing doesn't seem to be a good idea with them.

I think with the rakdos, they like to destroy things. But not like the gruul. Maybe more like hitmen? Also whats with the swamp sign then?

I suppose the concept of 'mindless violence' can be represented by your guys getting better if you have no cards in hand....
Sorta like an 'all or nothing' playing style.
I really like this card- I see it being used in B/R aggro, but I still don't think it justifies the use of One with Nothing.
On the other hand, this makes the [card:42e324dbe7]Seal of Fire[/card:42e324dbe7] reprint in Dissension a lot better, since it's better than holding a [card:42e324dbe7]Shock[/card:42e324dbe7] in your hand...

Oh my god...he's right. One With Nothing would work wicked good with this mechanic if your hand sucks. So that card can be used...

I personally don't like the mechanic. That's just me. I was never a RB player though.
Let's see what Wizards does with this one. Even though I don't like the premise of it, I'm sure WotC will make me like it.

I like the mechanic, but part of me thinks it would have fit better with the Gruul. I mean think about it, blue is all about hording a bunch of cards and being reactive, so you'd think that it's opposite would have a mechanic like this. Know what I mean?

^^
[card:d01512c9e9]Sadistic Augermage[/card:d01512c9e9] rules with that card too. And I'm sure Rakdos will have plenty of sacrificing going on.

In terms of analysis, this is a 2/2 for 2 mana that becomes MORE relevant in the late game, which is an interesting bit of design space. If you look at it, Rakdos has taken away the disadvantages of an early game creature ending up in your hand late game, making those little guys that you want to see turns 2 and 3 still playable turns 7 and 8. I really like this mechanic.

Note to self: Pick up Bottled Cloisters from the dollar/fifty cent boxes at next card show. If this mechanic is successful, it will experience a Life from the Loam style price jump.

I've got a nice, foil Cloister sitting in my binder. Too bad that would only help on defense, though...

Cloisters will STILL be too vulnerable to make it.
Tin-Street Hooligan is in standard, and Jitte sees a lot of hate. MAYBE if Owling Mine grows to be big, it will be good, but it's kind of dependant entirely on how well a single deck type will do.

Owling mine won't get too big. It dies too easily to just about every aggro strategy.

If they use Tin Street Hooligan, they've pretty much insured that you're going to be able to meet the requirement for the Rakdos mechanic on your turn unless they force you to draw, as any deck dealing with that mechanic would be able to get rid of 1 card in hand... especially when it's already at 4+ mana.
If they have instant speed removal, they'd have to use it on your turn, lest they set you up for the bonus.
Not to mention that every turn they can't deal with it, you're drawing an extra card.
I'd agree that it's not very likely that it would do great in constructed, but based on the buzz the mechanic is already getting, Cloisters would at least trade for more than they should for a couple weeks... and it's easy enough to pick them up for less than a dollar now.
Remember Traumatize? It shot up in value a huge amount when Rav hit. I've not seen many Dimir Mill decks burning up standard, but Tramatize is still selling for far more than it was.

Anothing thing to notice: look at the background, behind the rats. Its the same red pillars of lava/magma/really hot whatever that we've seen since Ravnica's rumor season started Is this finally confirmation that that picture is the Rakdos dual-land?

One with nothing has a few things it can work with.. just... very few of them can't be done with better cards ;)
Some of them include:
Reanimator (late game)
Brink of Madness
