Barkh is Persian for progress. Barkh in our set will be a keyword (ability word) appliable to all colors. Barkh simply signifies that if you have X of a certain land type, additional things happen.
Keyword: Barkh - If you control X <land type> Y.
Colors: All
Power leveling and mana costing Barkh is similiar to mana costing Threshold cards. Sometimes you want to go lower, sometimes higher. Sometimes the Barkh is good, other times not so good. The best part about Barkh is it definitely encourages mono-color use.
Contest Involvement:
- Submit some Green Barkh Cards
- Entries will be scored into Wave 1 Round 2.

2/2
Canopy Snare - G
Instant
Target creature with flying loses flying until end of turn.

Bestial Fury - G

Target creature gets +2/+2 until end of turn.
Barkh - If you control five or more forests, that creature gets an additional +2/+2 until end of turn.
Also, a thought: Perhaps instead of just "Barkh", it should be "Barkh X", since apparently, the number of lands required can vary? Else, perhaps the number should be fixed.

Dragon Tree Grove

Barkh - If you control 3 of more non-basic lands, ~ gains; "T: Add GG to your mana pool."
This card could be called anything.... but the Dragon Tree (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragon_tree) has a very expensive sap that was the reason why Yemen was once so wealthy (and known as the Happy Arabia), as the island of Socotra which belongs to Yemen is pratically the only place they are found. Okay so this isn't exactly a great representation of the card (the "Dragon's Blood" sap is used as a medicine), but that's hardly new for a Magic card, as WotC tend to take inspiration from mythical or r/l sources, rather than focus on complete accuracy.
