XCB Common Rules
Your deck is composed of X cards which all start in your hand.
Your library contains 0 cards.
Random effects always go in their owner's opponent's favor.
You can see your opponent's hand, so you make the best possible play.
You don't lose as a result of not being able to draw a card.
You play each opponent twice; once going first and once going second.

For each win, you score 3 points.
For each draw, you score 1 point.
For each loss, you score 0 points.

You may not submit a deck that can win before the opponent's first main phase.
You may not submit a deck that can force an opponent to lose two or more cards from his or her hand in a single turn.

Besides that the game works the same as a normal game of magic.
You may only play one land per turn unless a card specifically alters that.
You must have the mana to be able to play cards unless otherwise able to do so.
You and your opponent each begin with 20 life.

Rules for this XCB Round Specifically:
1) Deck size is determined by whichever player has the first turn each game. If Player Noonya uses a 2CB deck and Player Bidness uses a 3CB, the first round will be played as if it was 2CB and the second round will be played as 3CB. This gives advantages and disadvantages to all XCB sizes.

2) You may only play up to 5CB. That means all deck sizes from 2-5 are legal.

3) Send me your lists in order of how you want them played. Whenever you are limited your cards will be chosen in the exact order so if you send me:
1 - Black Lotus
2 - Show and Tell
3 - Form of the Dragon
4 - Mishra's Factory

If you face a player with a 3CB deck one game you won't be able to use the 4th card - Mishra's Factory

4) This is a Vanishing XCB. All winning and excessively popular decks will get hit with a 5-Round ban. After the end they become legal again. This will ensure a slightly fresh format each week.

If they can win tournaments, they're obviously too powerful. :paranoid: Also, you still have: Mox Jet, Snow-Covered Swamp, Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, Underground Sea and friends, Vault of Whispers, etc etc.

Well, the first few times you play, you might not do as well as you'd want, but you'll get the hang of it :)

I submitted a deck too, incidentally :)

Holy crapzorz, that's a lot of people at once. XD

Note: Had to change 2 cards in my deck due to a rules misunderstanding. -_- They were both Energy Chambers (which I planned to use to boost Mishra's Factory by making it a creature at the end of the opponent's turn, but that doesn't work. :(). So I went with a previous idea I had. But if that's not alright with everyone, I'll just switch back and fail miserably. :P

It contained a little hint in his name "Unfaer" ;)

BTW: Is it possible to change on card? I found a better substitution.

In that case the game would most likely play to a draw (Zhou not playing the Pet, because I'd kill it, me not playing the Hunter, because I want to kill the Pet). I don't really get how it is the games are played out, but when i chose the deck I had this kind of strategy in mind.

Sorry Mal, I know that's a lot of questions to be throwing out. :o They're not really directed at you, but at anyone who can give a definate answer. It's not that I want the results changed (either way I finish at the far bottom of the table), but I clearly need to get a better grasp of how the game works. I keep completely missing the mark on my decks and it'd be good to get things like this straight in my mind so I might stand a chance of improving. (Yeah, right :p)

Yes. You can play the animate ability twice, using up both mana.

Also, Basillica/Vindicate, while a good deck, is far too slow for this format. This bears some thinking.

No it would not, as to be able to dredge you must have at least as many cards in your library...


@Niv-Mizzet: Really cool and strong deck. Didn't expect someone to sneak a really big and hard to remove creature into the game, as Show and Tell was banned.

Mmmm, because when you change control of cards in MWS, it rearranges them making it appear as though LED was your 4th card and thus not available with DBB's limit. :paranoid:

This is the second time I've used that same combo(but first time it was a normal swamp). The first time was a 5CB(Got second with it). But I didn't expect to do well, because of the fact that I lose any game that I go second and start with less then 5 cards. But I was only 3 points behind. Wow! :eek:
