Welcome to 5CB Round 2. This round will be different, like every round will be. Which is what I am trying to do. Because each round should have its own unique twist to make things a little extra fun. This round will be alt-win round. An alt-win is a way of winning without reducing you opponents life total to < 1. I think it would be difficult to do this with only 5 cards and Black lotus banned. So I unbanned Black Lotus, and I also unbanned Barren Glory. The one restriction for this round is that those two cards cannot be in the same deck. You have an imaginary 35 cards for a library, for the purpose of mill. the missing 5 cards are in your hand. I decided a 40 card deck was big enough. You still draw 1 card at your draw step. If you have any questions, or are apposed to the idea just make post.

1. You don't lose the game for having zero or less life.
2. You have a virtual library of thirty-five cards. If these cards would exist in any place except the library, instead they do not. You lose the game if you are required but unable to draw a card.
3. You may not submit a deck containing both Barren Glory and Black Lotus.

Forms of alt-win
-Mill
-Poison Counter
-Cards that specificly say "win the game"

What I am also constidering alt-win
-Infinite Turnes
-Infinite Life
-Infinite Damage
-Infinite Tokens
-Infinite Anything

5CB Common Rules
Temporarly out -> Your deck is composed of 5 cards which all start in your hand.
Temporarly out -> Your library contains 0 cards.
Random effects always go in their owner's opponent's favor.
You can see your opponent's hand, so you make the best possible play.
Temporarly out -> You don't lose as a result of not being able to draw a card.
You play each opponent twice; once going first and once going second.

For each win, you score 3 points.
For each draw, you score 1 point.
For each loss, you score 0 points.

You may not submit a deck that can win before the opponent's first main phase.
You may not submit a deck that can force an opponent to lose two or more cards from his or her hand in a single turn.

Besides that the game works the same as a normal game of magic.
You may only play one land per turn unless a card specifically alters that.
You must have the mana to be able to play cards unless otherwise able to do so.
You and your opponent each begin with 20 life.

These don't make sense. Infinite turns will cause you to deck yourself if you can't win in that time. Infinite life, damage and tokens are irrelevant if you don't lose for having less than zero life. The Magic game rules do a pretty good job of explaining how to win or lose a game.

I think the rules for the special format should be phrased as follows:

I like your wording for the rules. Ive always been bad with words. anyway what i ment is if you can achive an infinite combo you can win too. but if you dont like it I can change it. Because its all about fun. does anyone else have a point to make.

PS>I quoted your re-worded rules into the thread header. If that doesnt bother you.

Seth.. I need an update here quick. I think you are starting to lose creditability as a contest admin.

So you guys are aware, this contest will NOT count towards the April points chase, as I need to finalize the month.

Should this contest ever become final, we will apply the points to the current month that it is in when it becomes final. If it is September, then it will be in Septembers chase.
