Below is a quote from Mark Rosewater on www.wizards.com:

http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=mtgco...com/daily/mr194 (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=mtgcom/daily/mr194)

And heres the quote:

"But I liked how hybrid interacted with traditional multi-colored cards in constructed. So I decided to put them into the block that followed Ravnica (codenamed Snap, as in Snap, Crackle, Pop). I moved all the records from the one set to the other in our database and I began figuring out how the next block would make use of the hybrid cards (you know, blending in with Snap's theme of… woops, I don't think I'm supposed to mention that just yet)."

Snap Crackle Pop is the next block's codenames. Any comments? Post them here.

Another Multicolored theme!?
I doubt it, but what else could use hybrid mana?

this does present some possibilities as far as hybrids go. cards of single colors blending with others? i'll wait to see if that will be made.

its interesting, because the theme can't be TOO related to hybrids because the hybrid cards were only moved over to that block as an afterthought and it turned out that they fit.

It could be a land-based theme. That's kind of a multi-color theme but its also different enough from rav. It would be like creatures getting stronger if you control more lands or stuff like that. That would be kinda cool but also weird....

Am I the only one who thinks it will have either Greek or Egyptian flavor?

You know, maybe it's a continuation of Rav. Just an opinion.

Now that would be cool.

I concur. While it's nice to move on to different planes, let's face it: none of them will ever be as cool as Dominaria. Perhaps having a block to block flow will helpWizards get out of this period of meh-ness they've been having.

Yeah, when they only do a single block plane it usually makes me not give a damn about the storyline.

It could be 3-color based...

Or the theme could be off-color cards (a 1{u/b}{u/b} kill spell could be a kill spell in blue).

Or their gonna make an entirely new mechanic and base it on that.

speculating....

could be a thene such as kicker costs, where the cards are their own single colors, but have abilities triggered by other non native mana colors.

Return of Kicker Costs: :D :D :D :D

I'd be willing to bank on it having something totally different than will define the future sets. (Equipment, Legendary Creatures, Hybrid mana, etc.)

A continuation would be cool

When I saw the Rav. spoiler i liked it buts its kinda dissappointing to realize that they're will never be any more transmute and stuff like that. Since rav. is such an interesting place, and its hard to develop a storyline when you're just defining the guilds throughout the block, a continuation might be cool.

However, I doubt wizards would do that, but who knows?

A continuation would definitely rock. I'm interested to see how they would work with the guild idea again, though...

How about this...you take the guild idea that they already have and mix it with the flip creatures.

You could have like guild-leader cards as the post-flips. Then, when one dies, you can flip a different card that has guild-leader. How fun would that be...

Snap, Crackle, and Pop [The Cereal Block] sounds life it could be interesting.

Yeah, it was fun how onslaught a follow up on the block before, but I don't really think they should/can pull that off twice.

I saw a thread on MTGS that said the next block would be called Time Spiral or something like that, but R_E said that he didn't believe it was true, so I didn't post it here.

Judging from "time spiral" maybe its kinda like different block ideas meshed together which would kind of lend itself to multicolor...

but it would be very messy and un WOTCish

Like I said, Time Spiral wasn't confirmed by anyone. It is probably a lie, but someone threw it out there.

Considering they banned/restricted essential components, they killed the decks! (Shameless awesomely awesome line stealing:)

I don't know if there will be a continuation. After the whole onslaught deal, Wizards vow to have one plane with only one block. But it would be a nice dream indeed :).

I think they stick with the multicolor theme, though. According to MaRo, the YMTC card (which is multicolored) will be in SNAP.

Time Spiral sounds like something in which they go back in time. Or keep going in circles in time....And also, you can also overdo it with multicolour cards/sets.
I mean, come on, the whole Invasion bunch was multicolour, Ravnica is pretty big in multicolour, so I'm not sure if I'm really waiting for more multicolour.

But then again, multicolour is still better than kamigawa. Oh how I hate kamigawa...I want it to die and burn and be minced and diced and sliced and maimed and flogged and severed and dissected and...
