Is a Swamp also a black Permanent?

Hello ,
can anyone help me with that problem? The Situation was that my Friend had an northern Paladin on the Board and want to destroy my Swamp with it. Probably a silly question but i didn't find anything about it in the rules.

A swamp is a land. Lands don't have colors. Go tell your friend he doesn't deserve Northern Paladin.

Okay that's what i told him land are only basic lands and nothing else but i wanted to be on the safe side :lol: Thnx a lot
