Dimir in Progress

Well, I was hoping to post this when it was done, but I don't like it when there's nothing new in the art forum to look at, and I'm sure you all feel the same way, too :P.

So, here's a work in progress of a little something I'm cooking up....

I got the idea for the skin-stretchy thingy from a picture of a Dimir dude I saw in the fatpack player's guide. The Dimir House Guard are based on the concept artwork for them, as opposed to that of the card [card:d0b7ef3a1a]Dimir House Guard[/card:d0b7ef3a1a]. You can see the cool-looking House Guard in the artwork for [card:d0b7ef3a1a]Followed Footsteps[/card:d0b7ef3a1a]. (=

I'll try and finish it sometime, but I'm starting on a Selesnya one because da muse hit me on the head with her hammer of smashing.

It's not finished yet! :P

I'll go over it all in a 2b pencil once I've gotten all my stuff done ^_^.

The sketch is great! Only some small errors in anatomy and perspective. I'm looking forward to when/if you finish this :)

It really sucks that I drew it in a sketchbook, so the left side is warped......stupid scanner :(.

(at least I use those "break-blade knives" (don't know what you call them in english) when I'm finished with pictures in a sketchbook. It's to irritating to scan them correctly otherwise)

And on the right House-guard (our right) has a oddly-shaped collar-piece and his backspikes are stuffy. I like the Dimir-guy in the middle he is cool and looks powerful+evil. The stone-texture on the Dimir-spider Eye is particulary great!

When will the finished piece be up? ;)

I was going to be lazy about it, but I guess I'll fix up the right guy's collar piece thingy :P.

It'll be done when it's done, which might take a while :P. I tend to not draw just in one go......a bit each day :P.

Another day, another bit finished.

I cut it out of the book, so now the left isn't blurry :). I dont have enough room at the bottom, so I'm only doing their upper torsos (=.

Interesting style with the sharp outline and the excellent shading! I really like the middle guy and the guard on our right has a great skull.

Some suggestions: I think the "cheekbone" or what it is called on the left Guard is a bit weird, also his eyes. His skull doesn't look as great as the one on the right.
The Dimir Big Guys outline could continue down his left cheek and down to his chin, I think it would help his face stick out more.

Give us more! ;)

The outline thingy is just something I like doing :P. Remember my Loxodon Pirate from the first art contest? Did the same thing :).

Speaking of which, what happened to the thread for the previous art contests? I wanted to look at the artworks from the last one, but it seems to have disappeared o_0.
