View Full Version : Post your Time Zone

This is the Time Zone Thread (TZT).

It was put up in order to make it easier to schedule things, like meeting on the forums, playing MWS matches or whatever you like.

Each member of the [Lorehold], especially new members, is requested to post their special time zone below.

Your time zone is shown as the difference to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)(GMT for dummies, like someone, thx to someone ;) (http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/)).
In order to acquire knowledge upon your GMT difference, please scroll any page of these forums way down to the bottom.

There you will be seeing something like this:

http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa240/uralb/GMTexample.jpg

This pic also documents one of the crucial events in the younger [Lorehold] history, guess what? - My Birthday ;)

As you can see in this example, the displayed user has a GMT difference of GMT-5. At the very moment it is 5.46am in HIS time zone (which actually means all times given in the forum are HIS special time). After some short calculation, one can easily figure out that 5.46am HIS time means 10.46am GMT. Heck, MZ, had you been up late or out early? ;) Ahem... sorry, where have I been?... Ah yes... time zones...

So, if someone wants to schedule a date, he should give the other person a dating time in GMT, say, if MZ(GMT-5) wanted to meet me(GMT+2) right after breakfast, at 7.00am his time, he'd tell me to be online at 12.00pm GMT. So I would know that I can sleep long, since 12.00pm GMT is 2.00pm my time. Okay?

The advantage of this is, that otherwise I would have to wait full seven hours for MZ and probably die of hunger or rotting away (and I wouldn't go away if my LORD and MASTER gave me orders to appear), if he simply told me to meet him at 7am. See?

So modern times have brought their benefits to all of us. No more senseless waiting, no more starving, no more putrefaction. :)

Ah, and by the way: as the appointed official and only timekeeper of the [Lorehold], I will be keeping track of your posted GMT differences and display them right here:

MZ, FM, SW, Kira, Unggoy, EC, HP, Dazboot - GMT -5
LSoR, Scion, SLJ - GMT -4

Rorschach

or simply "Space Freely". has multiple connotations and lets a lot of room for interpretation... kinda cool'n'funny, but yet *buhu* gloomy and mysterious. :D

I ACCEPT THY CHALLENGE GOOD SIR! The format, gentlemen's casual (ALL but P9), all Vanguards allowed - The time, next moment I see you online when I'm home!

FYI: The best format in the world is 2HG Tribal Vanguard in the Gentlemen's Casual rules - you know I'm right

May I kindly hint at the fact that there are NO WEAPONS ALLOWED in these hallow halls of time-keeping, dear gentlemen? Except those sharp-edged little (left hand) and big (right hand) hands I am neatly holding? ;)
