This is when two of my loves comes together so perfectly, and my creation juices hit a high. My main two loves are Magic: The Gathering, and Books. Guess what book I was reading just recently, on the public transportation trip to the Prerelease? I was reading my Narnia books, namely, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. You may call it destiny or call it fate, but in the first Guildpact deck I opened up, my rare was the Ink-Treader Nephilim. Even though this card is not as useful in sealed deck play due to its annoying four color cost, I decided to go with it anyhow, just for the heck of it. I did not do very well with it, but after the prerelease, I was all a buzz with the other 4 Nephilim in my binder. I spent the entire way back thinking up ways to incorporate the Nephilim in a deck. Since I wanted a playset of each of the Nephilim, I have no more room for other creatures.

Central Cards:
The Nephilim (all 5 of them)

Lands:

4x [card:d974b4fa81]City of Brass[/card:d974b4fa81]
4x Forest
4x Island
4x Mountain
4x Plains
4x Swamps

Creatures:

4x [card:d974b4fa81]Dune-Brood Nephilim[/card:d974b4fa81]
4x [card:d974b4fa81]Glint-Eye Nephilim[/card:d974b4fa81]
4x [card:d974b4fa81]Ink-Treader Nephilim[/card:d974b4fa81]
4x [card:d974b4fa81]Witch-Maw Nephilim[/card:d974b4fa81]
4x [card:d974b4fa81]Yore-Tiller Nephilim[/card:d974b4fa81]

Instants and Sorceries:

4x [card:d974b4fa81]Magical Hack[/card:d974b4fa81]
4x [card:d974b4fa81]Funeral Charm[/card:d974b4fa81]
4x [card:d974b4fa81]Daring Leap[/card:d974b4fa81]
1x [card:d974b4fa81]Coalition Victory[/card:d974b4fa81]

Artifacts and Enchantments:

3x [card:d974b4fa81]Excavator[/card:d974b4fa81]

Notes:

The main point of the deck is to use the landwalking cards to make the Nephilim unblockable as well as reflect the idea of a voyage, which means going across many different terrain. In the same way, the [card:d974b4fa81]Daring Leap[/card:d974b4fa81] is also there to give the Nephilim a bit of evasion through flying. It also serves the purpose of reflecting the concept of a voyage, in this case, a voyage through the skies. I threw in the [card:d974b4fa81]Coalition Victory[/card:d974b4fa81] for the sole purpose of feeding my casual gamer's desire for alternate win conditions.
