Celixia Decks Posted with More to Come!
6/25/07 - Now that I am gearing back up with Powershift, I figured I
would update some things in that section of the site. The section
of fictional cards, that is. More specifically, all of the pages
dealing with Celixia and it's many facets and sets. In the meantime, I
have posted 10 decks from the Celixia block (currently only using
Celixia cards). More will be added soon. ~Streetz~ |

Winter Break Celixia Tourney-Top 8 Pairings!
1/31/06
- I can't say the tournament has been a flop, but many of the people
that originally entered the contest were unable to play and thus,
after three rounds I have opted to go straight to the top 8.
Mind you, this was a suggestion by the other players in the
tournament. So, below are the pairings for the top eight (round
one):[Pairings Removed]
Good luck to everyone in the tournament. I
would like to have this round completed by Sunday. Thanks for visiting MDV! ~Streetz~

Files: Tournament Worthy?
12/16/05 - Welcome
back to Celixia Files! This time around I hope to enlighten you all,
especially those that are going to be in the Winter Break Tournament, on
certain Celixia cards and combos to watch out for. While I won't be
featuring 'combos' like in the combo section of MDV, there will be hints
scattered throughout the article. First up in today's Celixia Files is
a top ten list for Celixia cards. This is really just for fun but I give you
a little more info on each card as I go along. Some of you may
disagree if you know anything about Celixia, but here I go. You can discuss this article in the forums
here.

Celixia
Files: Before the Break...
12/14/05 - First, let me start off to
say that this article is ALL about CELIXIA, from the creator of it. If you
don’t want to read up on Celixia, the fictional set of Magic cards, please
stop now. However, even if you don’t want to be in the tournament being
hosted during Winter Break 2005, you will find some of this stuff
interesting. If anything, reading up on a fictional set of magic cards is
always amusing (to say the least.) You can discuss this article in the forums
here.

Celixia
101.2
11/23/05 - Welcome back! It’s time to take another
look at Celixia, the fictional card set by John Streetz. Last time, we
took a look at Ambush and Orbs. Here is a quick recap: Ambush is the
ability to play cards during combat for their ambush cost. Orbs are
mystical artifacts that have varying effects on the game and on certain
cards. Today, we take a look at two different mechanics that seemingly
go hand in hand: Reclaim and “chaos.” You can discuss this article in the forums
here.

text spoilers updated!
10/1/05 - The CELIXIA text spoiler
has been updated to include the release of the set in its final state.
Unfortunately, this text spoiler is difficult to read. Because of this I
have added a 'text
spoiler with images' page that allows you to scroll through the
cards easily as text but with the mana cost symbols and a small version
of the art on the card. I hope you enjoy this set as I have put in
many, many hours to make it final and possible. Thanks for
visiting MDV!

CELIXIA
IS NOW COMPLETE!
9/30/05 - Well... its been over two years in the making and it is now
complete. The first set in the block, CELIXIA, is finished and
ready for play! At this time only the visual spoiler has been
updated but I plan to update the text spoiler and other portions of this
set on MDV this weekend. Please peruse the cards and let me know
what you think is this
thread. Thanks for visiting MDV and keep your eyes pealed for
some CELIXIA events to come.

8/27/05 - If are like a few other people in the world that await to
final release (and I mean final this time) of CELIXIA, then you may want
to click on the title above. It is a forum thread where I release
some 'not-final' cards for the latest release of CELIXIA. 13 cards
total - a nice mix of all different color cards. Please check it
out and post your comments on the cards. There may be more posted
in the
thread. Thanks for visiting MDV!!!

Last
chance to comment on CELIXIA.
8/3/05 - I have made some final changes to the set including adding
about 4 equipment cards, tweaking the dual lands and updating the
'enchantment - aura' cards. If you would like to see any changes to
CELIXIA, now is your chance. Or if you have any comments about
rarities, power creep, or whatever, let me know via email or in the forums.
Please post your thoughts on it
here. BTW, CELIXIA is
a fictional set of MTG cards by me. Thanks for visiting MDV.

New
Powershift art and request for help.
6/26/05. If you click on the above link, you will
find some images for cards to be in the Powershift set... artwork that I've
done over the past few months. Powershift is the second set in the
CELIXIA block, a fictional block of MTG cards.
Please let me know your thoughts on these images in
this thread or send me an email. Thanks for visiting MDV!
P.S. I am looking for someone to design the Poweshift
icon and logo. On the main page for Powershift is a quick rendering
of a logo.. although I really, really don't like it. Please email me
or post in the forums if you would like to design it.

Powershift
Contest Over, Winner Declared.
5/30/05.
There has been a contest running in the MDV/MTP forums for Powershift,
the next set in the fictional CELIXIA block. The contest involved
creating a new mechanic for Powershift, and let me say there were some nifty
mechanics submitted from the submitters. It is finally complete, and
of the many contestants in the contest, Hymnologist has won with his
"Duplicate" mechanic. Soaring Estos is a card he created that shows
the mechanic. Please click on the above link to find out more and to
see the Powershift card in it's early stages. Thanks for visiting MDV.

Spoiler Updated as of 5-17-05
5/17/05 -Wow. I never thought I could revise one
set so many times to try an reach perfection. A number of changes has
been made including art changes, card wording updates, and better mana
curves for tribal like decks. Plus, some of the cards have been
revised to match a new cycle of shuffling matters cards. Plus, a few
legendary artifacts have been replaced with MUCH better artifacts for
playtesting and casual play. Please check it out and voice your
opinion in
this thread. Thanks and enjoy! Note: The visual spoiler will
be updated sometime in the next week for you CELIXIA junkies out there. ~John Streetz~

Spoiler Updated (so far)
5/5/05 - There are currently many revisions being done
in CELIXIA both due to playtesting and feedback. I have updated the
text spoiler in two ways. One, I have included all of the revisions I
have posted in this
thread. Two, I have changed to format to that of the Mtg Editor
spoiler export. Apparantly, it is easier to import into MWS and
Apprentice. Enjoy! ~John Streetz~ |
Extra
Stuff for CELIXIA lovers...
4/30/05
- I have created an extra for page for CELIXIA called extra stuff.
Avatars, Wallpapers, Decks, Playtesting and more has been moved to that page
(so that the main CELIXIA page doesn't look too cluttered). If you
have any ideas for CELIXIA extras, please let me know. ~John Streetz~ |
New layout for CELIXIA main
page...
4/23/05
- I have revised the look of this page to be more consistent with the
other main pages of Magic Deck Vortex. I have also added two important
links to the top link icons... Powershift and Equilibrium.. the two next
sets in the CELIXIA block. Powershift is currently in the works and
Equilibrium in the my future thoughts. Please enjoy this fictional set
of Magic cards by myself. Feel free to discuss anything about CELIXIA
in the forums. ~John Streetz~ |
Have your hand in CELIXIA... mechanic contest.
4/19/05
- Have you ever enjoyed perusing the cards of
CELIXIA (the fictional set of
cards by me) and thought to yourself.. why can't I do that? Well,
now is your chance. In the forums, I am hosting a contest to make a
mechanic for Powershift, the set to follow CELIXIA, and this is your
chance. Post a mechanic in the contest thread and a card or two
along with it. When there are enough entries I will judge it and
have one final round. The winner gets to see their mechanic in
POWERSHIFT along with some cards they design. Cool. The link
to the thread is found
here. ~John Streetz~ |
Quick
revisions to 12 cards.
4/15/05
- I have updated the visual and text spoiler for the set. After
playtesting one game and trying to build a few playtesting decks, I have
come to realize there were some changed necessary. Please go to
this thread
to see my reasoning for the changes. Thanks.
~John Streetz~ |
Major
Updates to CELIXIA
4/09/05
- I have finally posted the lastest revisions to CELIXIA including over
100 individual card mechanic changes, 20+ new cards, 30+ new artwords
and so on. I think you will find this edition of CELIXIA to be
five times as fun and as real as any other Magic (real) set. There
is still some playtesting to do, but I feel confident this is the
closest CELIXIA has ever been to completion. Feel free to discuss
CELIXIA here on MDV's forums (hosted by MTP). Check out the visual
spoiler, linked above. ~John Streetz~ |
Celixia
Wallpapers
3/17/05
- I am opening the wallpaper section back up for your review and use.
I have even added a new wallpaper (featured this month) of a card not
yet listed in the spoiler. Celixia,
for those of you that don't know, is a fictional set of cards I have put
together using the Magic: the Gathering layout and rules. Let me
know if there is a card you want to see as a
wallpaper.
Also, know there are about 80 card revisions coming
in the next few weeks. I am just finalizing some of the artwork and
new cards. Enjoy! ~John Streetz~
|
Avatars uploaded.
1/6/05.
You know, you can never find any good, unique avatars that no one else
has. Until you come to Magic Deck Vortex. Check out the 65
avatars made from artwork from CELIXIA. Please, do not modify these
in any way shape or form ... they are here for your use in forums (as your
avatar). If you have trouble using one, please let me know.
Enjoy! ~John Streetz~ |
Many changes
to Celixia.
10/24/04. In an effort to give a better sense of balance to the
set, I have removed many of the cards and replaced them with new ones.
For instance, I removed 5 lands and replaced them with variations of dual
lands. I also replaced some others cards with a cycle of common
creatures. I think you will find this enlightening. Please
send your comments to the webmaster via email. Oh, and don't forget
to post your opinions in MDV's poll.. currently about CELIXIA.
Thanks for visiting MDV. ~John Streetz~ Note: I haven't
updated the Text Spoiler yet.**Click on the visual spoiler link above to see the thumbnails of all
cards in the set.

More news about CELIXIA
10/7/04.
Over the past few weeks I have been modifying and perfecting the cards of
CELIXIA, a fictional set by John Streetz of Magic: the Gathering cards.
I have moved over 60 cards from the set to the set Powershift or
Resolution (the sets to come after Celixia). In the meantime, I had
to fill in a few slots with new cards. There are over 25 new card
arts and over 25% of the old cards have been updated or completely
changed. Please let me know your ideas and feelings about the cards.
It is greatly appreciated. Enjoy! ~John Streetz~

News about Celixia, MDV's fictional set.
9/27/04.
I have been working diligently on the set for the past few days only to
realize I HAVE to make a block out of this. I have changed the
names and arts on over 50 cards and moved a bunch of cards out of the
CELIXIA block to lower the card count to 306. I have added a new
mechanic, changed legends to legendary, made note of the new vigilance
keyword, and done other things. Expect it to be posted soon.
To the right is the new symbol although it may be changed to something a
little more applicable to the set.
