Description of deck by it's author
(quoted):
Boros. Izzet. Azorius. That’s not only
American’s most patriotic alliance; it’s also a deck that has the answer
or threat for every situation. With a guild from every set, this Ravnica
block deck is packing seven current and former top-10 cards, which means
your lineup’s got more ringers than the New York Yankees crashing an
intramural softball league.
This decks biggest strength is card advantage; with the
world’s best burn spells running a close second. Char is a gallon of
gasoline dumped straight up on it’s target’s head, Lightning Helix is the
rare spell that both kills stuff and keeps you from dying, and Electrolyze
is liquid card advantage. Anything too big to burn is sure to succumb to
Condemn or the Ends side of Odds/Ends.
Repeal stretches your card advantage, counteracts this
block’s blistering tempo and fizzles haunt. Court Hussar plays the same
role, and offers a not insignificant point of vigilant creature damage.
The deck’s two permission-like spells, Remand and the Odds side of
Odds/Ends, also play to tempo.
When it’s time to do business, Azorius Heralds is an
unblockable 2/1 clock that adds three to your life total when it comes
into play, but the bigger thread is Cerulean Sphinx. With all the card
manipulation, it’s keep coming up no matter how mana times you have to
shuffle it back into the deck.
So if you’re proud to be an American… or a Brit… or even
French, pick up this flag and proudly break it over your opponent’s head. |
