There are a number of ways to use Death Match, but my personal
favorite is with the Symbiotic Race of creatures. Innocent Blood offers
you some control as it allows you to sack a creature of your choice to
make these 1/1 Insect Tokens. Survival
of the Fittest gives you the opportunity to find the Symbiotic Creatures
or your hasty Spirit of the Night. Spirit of the Night has
protection from black and thus cannot be the target of the Death Match
ability. Chainer's Edict if for additional control and the Duress
gives you some insurance against combo decks. Skittering Skirge is
a quicky 3/2 flying creature for only two mana and the Anurid Scavengers
get the cards back into your library and makes for an untargetable
creature (from Death Match).
Recently added to the deck were Diabolic Tutor and Grave
Pact. The addition of the Tutor gives you better access to your
enchantment cards in teh deck and the Pact gives you better board control
given your oppenent can use the Death Match ability just as much as who
given they are casting creatures.
