Description of deck by its author
(quoted):
...Fixed the deck. Decided against the
signets, simply because of cantrips and cards like Court Hussar/Telling
Time, you'll get all the mana you need.
This deck uses the power of Dragon Arch to flash out
fat Gold guys for the win. Creatures are chosen based on their
abilities: Garza: card-draw; Treva - life gain; Godhead - soft lock with
Desert.
Early game tempo control comes in the form of Remand
and Disperse, with Wrath the staple removal spell. Use the Tutor
ruthlessly, find whatever you need, when you need it (you have a choice
of Faith's Fetters, Dragon Arch and Escape Routes). Escape Routes saves
your guys from spot removal, so fetch it after you've Arched your fattie.
Speaking of which, its good to trigger all your instants (including
activated abilities) as instants whenever possible, to avoid
counterspell/spot removal traps. Sideboard was designed against
disruption and weenies, with Resurrection getting your guys back after
they've been discarded/countered, while Condemn stalls against weenies.
Sacred Ground was the newest addition after this deck faced some trouble
against LD decks.
I play-tested against some casual builds (LD, Morph,
WG Weenie), and this build did remarkably well against 2 of the builds,
but failed against LD. However, after adding the Sacred Ground to s/b,
the game leveled out and, due to superior card advantage, Arch came out
tops. Weenie and Morph were teched in a similar way, siding in Fetters
and Condemn, aggressively bouncing and countering any creatures that
were cast. Pithing Needle was MVP against Morph, preventing cards like
Skirk Alarmist from going online and slowing down the deck considerably.
