Description of deck by it's author (quoted):
Another deck that features an obscure overlooked card from Saga - Smokestack. I've been mulling which color it would be most effective in. I tried a Black Smokestack deck, but found it to be slow, a Blue deck equipped with Tinker (but wouldn't you rather have a Colossus I thought), and thought maybe with quick mana in green that it might work. The result, the fast green mana (Elves) also double as sac-able permanents where Dark Rituals would not. Plow Under serves as a double edged sword, removing from play two of your opponents land considerably reduces his choices concerning the Smokestack, and also slows him down other times when you don't have it (great card advantage). Deranged Hermit also provides fodder, and can also the beats. 10 recurring cards (Rancor, Fortitude, Weatherseed Trees) provide the lock if the Smokestack gets out fast enough. You can almost always leave it at two counters, and still be able to keep most of your stuff in play.
