The key to the ninjutsu deck is, of all
things, Ornithopter. As a flyer, it's the ideal carrier for the evasion
you need to get rolling. As a zero-drop, it saves you mana, which is
vital because ninjutsu isn't the most cost-effective ability.
Turn one Thopter sets up a turn-two Mistblade Shinobi to
bounce opposing weenie, Ninja of the Deep Hours to gain card-advantage or
Walker of Secret Ways to start a ninja-bouncing marathon. Also key is Ogre
Marauder. If your foe blocks the Marauder, he has to sacrifice a creature;
if he lets it through, any number of things – all bad for him – could
happen.
Your other creatures combo well with ninjutsu. Sage owl
packs evasion and the ability to order the top of your library. Nekrataal
is all sorts of wicked. You can let it deal its first-strike damage, then
ninjutsu it out if unblocked so the ninja you play can deal normal combat
damage and trigger its ability. |
