Description of deck by it's author
(quoted):
Basically, you want to control the board in
the early game with StP, TI, OR, and then, hopefully, clear the board on
turn four in preparation for your mastermind to establish a recurring
removal of whatever else is still in the way. Once the board is yours
then drop chronicler FTW.
The mastermind combos with the Oblivion Ring such that
when the ring comes into play, and while it’s first ability is still on
the stack, you bounce the ring with the mastermind causing the ring’s
second ability to resolve before the first. The result is that the
ring’s target is removed from the game with no way of being retrieved.
This can be reused every turn.
Additionally, the deck has great card advantage. The
Mesa enchantress, Story Circle, Shielding Plax, mastermind/Ring combo,
Wrath of God, and Chronicler all add up to extra cards in one way or
another, and the Forbids and Chroniclers are great at taking advantage
of those extra cards.
Lastly the deck has a few tutors to get the key cards
out, as well as some land thinning buit in.
In the face of shrouded enemies, the Forbids should be
changed out for Wing Shards or Wash Out. And the Crypts are, of course,
the best answer to any recurring deck. |
