Description of deck by
William Spaniels
(quoted):
I came up with the deck, but it's hardly
original. It's elf aggro, with white for answers because I didn't think
that black gave it much.
You have good aggro matchups since your creatures are
generally cheap and large. Wren's Run Vanquisher is an amazing two drop,
and the eight elves that act as Glorious Anthems work to make sure your
creatures are bigger then theirs. Elvish Champion giving elves
forestwalk is an absolute beating against anything with Forests.
Between Saffi, Garruk and Masked Admirers,
board-sweeping effects aren't too much of a problem. Against control
decks that just try and kill creatures, you have a strong game using all
of your card advantage. I thought the deck would be weak against
Pickles, Teachings and Tarmorack, because all you were doing was laying
creatures while they had a trickier game plan. I built my sideboard with
that in mind. In actuality, your creatures are so cheap and do so much
damage that you have a decent match. My only loss was to RB
Goblin…control? I'm not sure, but he played no early drops and decimated
me with maindeck Molten Disaster, killing all my elves and leaving me
with one land as he played multiple Siege-Gang Commanders. I died with
seven cards in hand against him. |
