Description of deck by it's author
(quoted):
The original strategy for the Phyrexian
Assault deck was too get out a creature, then remove obstacles so you
can deliver damage to your opponent. This meant that Phyrexian Assault
counts on its creature removal to support your early creature dominance.
This is very easy to do if you have lots of effective ways to get rid of
your opponent's creatures and then have plenty of cheap casting cost
creatures to back this up with. These creatures should then attack and
quickly deal damage and should swiftly finish off you opponent. The best
card for creature removal from Urza's Legacy is a creature itself. Bone
Shredder, is a very good creature that I kept for my version of
Phyrexian Assault. With its coming into play abilty to destroy target
nonartifact, nonblack creature, means it is very versitile. The original
version of this deck only had 2 of these cards, but because it is such
as useful card my version needs to have all four. The deck also had a
number of creatures with a special sacrificial ability to give target
creature power and toughness reductions. This reduction ranged from
-1/-1 with Pyrexian Debaser up to -4/-4 with the massive Phyrexian
Plaguelord which is a 4/4 creature itself. I don't like this ability to
much, but with the Phyrexian Plaguelord's second ability to sacrifice a
creature to give target creature -1/-1 means that with this card in
play, it would mean that all my creatures could be sacrificed to kill
others creature with a toughness of one. This was an ability that could
make the difference from killing my opponent and him killing me.
