Description of deck by
Ken McElhaney
(quoted):
This is an unusual combination of colors to
produce an effective LD deck, but it must be noted that the combo of LD
and mass removal, like Wrath of God can work together nicely.
This may take the prize for the oddest deck of the
bunch. If you include Misguided Rage, there are twenty-three LD spells in
the deck. By Jeezum' Craw! That's one spell less than his land count. This
character really, really wants to wipe out any chance of his opponent
having any land on the table.
With only seven removal spells, seven kill conditions,
and no mana acceleration, Dat's deck relies more on LD than any other I've
seen reach the top 8. His sideboard is equally interesting, particularly
his inclusion of CoP: White. It's a crafty choice against big flyers like
Eternal Dragon and Exalted Angel as U/W decks generally do not pack many
enchantment killers.
Now, I don't know if many will follow Dat's example. If
anything, I see the Misguided Rages going out for more Akroma's
Vengeances, or at least a few Shocks.
