Assembly (Two-Bits)Description of deck by
Toby Wachter, featured on www.neutralground.com
(quoted):
For starters, you get targeted creature removal in the form of
Thunderclap and Seal of Fire. Thunderclap is actually much better than
you’d think in here, allowing for a surprise hit in response to things
like Cho-Manno’s Blessing. Additionally, you get that extra reach to kill
Thrashing Wumpus, Snakes & Drakes, and Legendary Spellshapers. Cave-In
rounds out the creature control, giving you a nice mass removal spell.
Lava Runner and Chimeric Idol are both incredibly efficient creatures, and
slightly undercosted. Scoria Cat is just a monster, and you will be tapped
out frequently with this deck. Looking at these creatures, you can tell
why Task Mage Assembly is downright ridiculous. Your opponent can’t target
your Idols. Runners can be, but at a heavy price. The Cat can, but your
opponent is going to need a heavy amount of mana to do so. Meanwhile, you
can shoot down everything on the other side of the table. Not exactly the
most symmetrical card in the world.
The last creature is Veteran Brawlers, which serves more as a good
blocker. Interestingly enough, his advantage can be created mainly from
virtual card advantage. Your opponent won’t want to tap out and proceed
with the normal mana curve if you play a Brawlers before they start the
second turn.
Kyren Toy is the lifeblood of the deck. It gives you a way to generate
mana to power spells such as Tectonic Break and Flowstone Slide, as well
as additional mana for the Assembly. The Slide is especially good here, as
it will kill of pesky Pro-Red creatures (in addition to just being a good
mass removal spell).
