Description of deck by it's author
(quoted):
Feeling a little antisocial? Tired of being
around the same people day after day? Have you lost faith in the
continuation of the human race? Well, have no fear, because at least
you’ll find some salvation in Magic. Who says you need to surround
yourself with high maintenance creatures when you’re better off without
them? The world can be a beautiful place when you stop caring about
other living things: no showers, no stupid conversations and no worries
about any of the massive removal you face in Standard. With this
completely creatureless deck, you’ll be able to sit and brood quietly
about the failings of creation while you punish your opponent with
spells, spells and more spells.
The main objective of this particular project is to use
countermagic to naysay every possible thread and eventually work a Genju
onto the board to go the distance. You might be wary of running even the
quasi-creatures, but trust us: a flying island is going to be about as
interested in talking to you as you are in talking to it. Faith’s Fetters
and Boomerang take care of any threads to your personal space, and a vast
array of annoying blue spells will make you a social outcast in no time.
Spectral Searchlight does double duty, accelerating your mana and
administering burn to an unprepared foe.
Your sideboard offers up a good number of helps against
aggro decks, letting you smash and bash with Terashi’s Verdict and
Confiscate the very creations that forced you into this exile. Bring in
Terashi’s Grasp to pop such popular threads as Greater Good, Umezawa’s
Jitte and Glare of Subdual. One advantage of dropping all the various
creatures and friends in your life is a great increase in personal funds.
You won’t be dropping any cash on the movies or loaning it out to
deadbeats, so you might want to save up and invest in some Wrath of Gods.
Evacuation is another pricey pest repellant that would obviously benefit
your unique disposition, as well as Final Judgment or any of white’s other
mass-removal rares. What have you got to lose? If you’re ready to leave
the crowded world of summon spells for the quiet bliss of arcane anarchy,
this deck’s a great break from the regular rat race. |
