Description of deck by its author (quoted):
This is the evolution of the original version
of the deck. The basic premise is simple: get out Mindlash Sliver and
sac one after the other guy draws his card. The deck has grown into a
decent three-player deck for casual, allowing you to lock out any
non-instant or flash cards for the game by hitting them during their
draw step, post-drawing. The main issue was men on the board made my
life hell, since while I could recur my troops, removal with them was
generally a matter of gang-blocking or similar annoyances. Now, some
creatures, like Big Game Hunter or Phyrexian Ghoul, are designed to
tangle with the big stuff while other guys like Plagued Rusalka and
Rotlung Reanimator can suppress weenie rushes for me.
Unlike my opponent, I still get to draw and keep cards.
Further, thanks to straight reanimation, raise dead effects, and low
casting costs across the board, I can redeploy lost creatures from the
graveyard quickly. Late game, Beacon of Unrest lets me begin thefting out
their graveyard if need be, otherwise just beat and beat until they
finally crumble. The key is to avoid getting ganged up on, and there is
little recourse against graveyard hosing. That said, casual games
frequently lack sideboards, and I generally switch decks after a game with
this one to avoid people targeting it.
Note that with one or two exceptions, the deck is very
cheap. Slight modifications and you could easily get this for under $20. |
