 Frankie
Peanuts.
Description of deck by it's author
(quoted):
At first glance, this deck looks like a
standard G/W control deck with Frankie Peanuts thrown in. And it
actually pretty much is. Frankie Peanuts could be replaced by any-game
winning condition like Exalted Angel, Akroma, or the cool new version of
Serra Angel. But Frankie Peanuts is by far the most efficient of ALL
finishers, including Morphling and Phyrexian Dreadnaught.
Before I tell you how this amazing combo works, I
quickly go over the rest of the deck. There is mana acceleration in the
form of Sakura-Tribe Elder and Kodama’s Reach. You have a good defense
with Wrath of God, Wing Shards, and the underrated Silent Arbiter. And
with eight tutors, you’ll find your Legend fast. It’s always a good idea
to play Frankie Peanuts with at least two extra mana, so you can play
Otherworldly Journey if need be.
Alright, time for the combo. Most of you probably know
the combo where you have two Frankie Peanuts and a Mirror Gallery to keep
them alive. With the first Frankie, ask your opponent if he will answer
yes to the next question. And with the second Frankie, ask them to concede
or to not concede depending on whether they answered yes or no.
But you can do that with only one Frankie Peanuts. The
combo with two of them worked whether you answered yes-or-no. With only
one Frankie Peanuts, you need to get your opponent to say a certain
answer, no matter what. This question can force your opponent to say yes
on the next question you ask them:
“If I ask you to concede the game this turn will you
provide the same answer to that question that you gave to this question?”
If the opponent says yes, then they will have to say yes
if you ask them to concede. If they say no, then they will have to say yes
when you ask them to concede. You win no matter what. If you want, you can
even use this question with other things, like this:
“If I ask you to give me the keys to your house will you
provide the same answer to that question that you gave to this question?”
Using this method, you can force your opponent to do
anything. Try this sequence of questions out:
Ask him/her not to concede
Ask him/her to let you control their turns
Ask him/her to give you all their worldly possessions
Ask him/her to become your servant/limo driver
Ask him/her to get you three more Frankie Peanuts and a Mirror Gallery so
you can ask four questions a turn
Ask him/her to do a thousand push-ups
Ask him/her to join the Mafia
Ask him/her to let you play a game with Mark Rosewater at Wizards of the
Coast
Ask Mark Rosewater to create an ultra-powerful card just for you
The problem with some of these questions is that Frankie
Peanuts’ effect stops at the end of turn. But if you add another Unhinged
card, Staying Power, then all the questions you ask are permanent for the
rest of the game. If you’re worried that both player’s decks will run out,
you can Donate your opponent an Obstinate Familiar or a Words of Wilding.
After all, you control all their turns, so you can force them to do it.
There’s also one other problem with this combo. If you
use this combo on an opponent who already knows about it, they will
probably concede in response to Frankie Peanuts’ trigger. Or they may beat
you up. So you probably want to find random strangers on the street and
see if they play Magic.
There you have a look into one of the most powerful
one-card combos ever. Just make sure you don’t tell your friends (until
you use it, of course). |
