Description of deck by its author
(quoted):
[This deck is] based around the token
advantage of Doubling Season and applying it to planswalkers. In
particular blowing up Chandra or Sharkhan the first turn it comes into
play.
The dual lands and Gemstone Mines are for getting your
mana where you need it. The cycle lands is for card drawings, and mana
if you really need it (over a card). Note that there are 25 lands in the
deck, but because of the cycling, the deck isn't mana flooded by any
means. To get your lands out faster, Exploration was added.
The Life from the Loam creates a nice drawing engine
with the cycle lands like Tranquil Thicket and Barren Moore. You can
even cycle a card to dredge, play Loam, draw two cards with cycle land
and use the third to dredge Loam back. Because your graveyard gets
filled with cards, you can use Eternal Witness as a tutor.
Because you need time for your planeswalkers and
Doubling Season to play, you need some board control. Pernicious Deed
plays the role of control here. Note that the Deed blows up everything
except your planeswalkers.
The number of each type of planeswalker was reduced
down to three for each from the original decklist. This was done to
prevent the uselessness of having multiples in your hand at the same
time.
Moment's Peace could be substituted with Damnation. |
