Description of deck by it's author
(quoted):
When
I originally put this deck, I wanted to make a killer green deck using
the theme of +1/+1 counters. I personally find +1/+1 counter
creatures very fun. I had cards like energizer and Titania's
Chosen in the deck. In fact, I tried to use them all so there were a lot
of 1's and 2's of a card. As it was, the deck was very unfocused.
I chose the cards I liked and tried to make the deck cohesive. Let
me say this: before this deck, I never truly realized how many
creatures use +1/+1 counters.
Back to the revised deck
shown to the left, it is now much better. You can gain life, do
direct damage or fog the battlefield with the cards. The real
roots of this deck are in STOMP, using Canopy Crawler and Phantom
Centaur to pack a punch. Giant Growth is in the deck to provide
some instant pump and the Spidersilk Armor is to block against flyers as
well as keep my counterless spikes alive. Thran Turbine is the key
card here allowing you to use the spike abilities for nothing (in
theory). Thran Turbine is MUCH cheaper than its counterpart artifact
(for spikes) the Heartstone.
Spike Rogue is the card that
gives the deck versatility with the counters. With him, you can
take a few counters from the Centaur and give them to the Triskelion to
do some damage. Or you can move a few counters over to your
Kamahl, Fist of Krosa and wallop a big punch (after activating his ability
of course). And lastly added is the Forgotten Ancient. This
guy fits perfectly into this deck!
Note: This deck has been slightly modified since the description above.
