Yes, modular creatures and Crucible of Worlds have made Copper-Leaf
Angel quite good. You can also play the Angel in more protective
environments – that is, with stuff like Leonin Abunas – to make sure
your investment of lands isn't wasted. Heck, you can even sack a bunch
of lands to the Angel and then use one or more Power Conduits to direct
charge counters onto a Darksteel Reactor. But that feels like a
different deck...
