 Azusa,
Lost but Smoking.
Description of deck by it's author
(quoted):
The deck plays out rather simply: Play the
Smokestack. Develop a situation in which you are able to sacrifice
useless permanents to the Smokestack, or things you can get back. These
include:
Smokestack + Honden of Life's Web's Spirit Tokens
Smokestack + Azusa, Lost but Seeking + Crucible of Worlds (The combo the
deck is based on)
Smokestack + Rancor (One game, I had no creatures and a hungry Smokestack;
I had to resort to Rancoring my opponent's Krosan Warchief. It confused
him so much that he didn't attack, fearing some fiendish combat trick.)
Smokestack + Myr Servitor (Is four Servitors sufficient reason to run one
Pack Hunt? Short answer: yes. Long answer below.)
Smokestack + Meloku the Clouded Mirror's Illusion Tokens
Smokestack + Gods' Eye's Spirit Tokens Smokestack + dead Genesis + any
creature
All the while, your helpless opponents can do nothing but slowly succumb
to their Smokestacking habits and grind to a permanent-less halt, at which
point you can start smacking with whatever creatures you have.
The only trouble for you is Naturalize. Well, and
Oxidize. And maybe Disenchant. Or maybe Annul, or Orim's Thunder, or...
oh, heck. Artifact removal in general. That's why this deck can switch
gears mid-game into a fully-fledged Aggro U/G.
How? Gifts Ungiven, my friend. Basically, after a few
games, your opponents will fear and hate the Smokestack. Taking a cue from
magicthegathering.com's Single Card Strategy, get an Eternal Witness with
the Gifts, and two of your remaining cards will go in your hand. That is
partly why there is such an abundance of one-ofs, the other reason being
lackadaisicalness. What free time I have is spent trying to figure out
ways to fit the word "lackadaisicalness" into casual conversation (it
doesn't work). Admittedly, there should probably be more Witnesses here,
and yet I am too cheap to pay $7.00 for an uncommon.
