Mill Thrill Guidelines

5/1/03. May's Deck Building Contest revolves around one of my favorite deck types, MILL/LIBRARY DEPLETION.  For the contest, you must build a deck that 'mills' or decks your opponent before you.  This should be its major win condition.  You are free to reference any of the decks listed in that the deck listing mentioned above to make you own, but please try to be original.  Follow the guidelines below when submitting your entry and remember, if you do not meet one or more of the requirements, your deck will be subject to point penalities.

What are the guidelines for entering the contest?

  • The deck cannot be more than 60 cards and not less than 60 cards.

  • Use cards from any set (INCLUDING SCOURGE)

  • You must use atleast two of the artifacts listed below in the quantity of four each in your deck.
(example: 4 Millstone & 4 Steel Golem would be in your deck)
Note: If you use say 4 Millstones and 4 Steel Golems, you can still use other cards from the list.  As
long as you use 4 each of atleast two you have fulfilled this requirement.

  • No Power Nine cards.  Any card that is banned in any format is not allowed in the entry.

  • The deck can be any number of colors including mono-chromatic.
(Hint.  I strongly encourage you to try non-typical(something other than blue) ways to achieve the
    decking concept.)

  • You deck must have at least one legendary card.  This includes legendary lands,
    artifacts and/or creatures.

  • Use cannot use Haunting Echoes.haunting_echoes.jpg (22661 bytes)

  • You must have a title and short description

One more resource on the site is the featured card from last year: MILLSTONE.  Remember: Go original.. that is the best.

You had to use atleast two of the cards below in your Contest Entry.
Note: You get bonus point(s) for using the cards below highlighted in yellow in your  deck (not necessarily in the amount of 4)
